| January 14, 2019

Another year, another ginormous bucket list of festivals and we’re here to help you make that even longer. While you’re scrambling to get tickets for Coachella, check out these upcoming EDM festivals that won’t break your bank, but will let you get your rave fix in. From experiences curated by our most beloved artists like ODESZA to basslovers festivals and more, don’t miss out on these 10 festivals that are on the come-up in 2019.

10. Imagine Music Festival

Imagine 2019 will be IMF’s 6th year running and it’s returning on Atlanta Motor Speedway for a bigger and better year. Held September 21-23, the aquatic-themed camping festival is cementing its place as a growing music and arts experience that includes transformational workshops, a splash pool, art space and more. Last years lineup hosted big names like Armin Van Buuren, Bassnectar, Kaskade and the 2017 lineup secured headliners like Above & Beyond, Tiesto and Deadmau5.

9. Deja Voom

Anyone who’s been to a Bassnectar curated experience knows it never disappoints and the debut of his new venture hopefully says the same. Bassnectar’s all-inclusive destination festival takes place from February 27 - March 2 in Riviera Maya, Mexico and features 3 sets from Bassnectar himself and ambient chill-out sets as well as performances from Rezz, The Glitch Mob and a Dirtybird pool party set from Claude Vonstroke and his labelmates. The Bassnectar team will also run a green initiative during the festival that prioritizes recycling and carbon offsetting.

8. Sundara Festival

ODESZA’s new all-inclusive destination festival is set to take place in Riviera, Maya Mexico from March 13-16. The specially curated lineup by ODESZA features headliners like Rufus du Sol, RL Grime and Alison Wonderland and is packed with activities like yoga, snorkeling and exploring off-site areas. One of the highlights is artists will perform two unique sets during daytime parties and late night sets. To ensure an intimate experience, only a limited number of packages will be sold.

7. Dirtybird Campout West

In 2018, Dirtybird made its venture out to Florida for an East Coast Campout, but sadly will not be returning for a 2019 run. The good news is that Campout West is still going strong as ever for all the Dirtybird campers. Coming back for its 5th year, Dirtybird Campout West is taking place in Southern California at Modesto Reservoir Regional Park in early October. The 21+ electronic summer camp-inspired festival has brought in DJs like A-trak, Gorgon City, Green Velvet, Chris Lake and best of all, head counselor Claude Vonstroke. Dates and lineup still to be released.

6. Global Dub Festival

Calling all bass lovers to see Adventure Club / Bear Grillz at Global Dub’s 2019 return. Presented by Global Dance Festival, the one day event takes place at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado on May 18th and is jam-packed with bass. Global Dub 2018 brought heavy hitters Ganja White Night, Zomboy and Eptic to the stage.

5. Forbidden Kingdom Music Festival

Brace your neck for another bass festival joining the likes of Lost Lands and Bass Canyon. The inaugural bass and dubstep Florida festival features a medieval theme and takes place February 16-17 in Sunset Cove, Florida, touting headbanger favorites like Excision, Adventure Club, 12th Planet, Zomboy, Doctor P and more. With cheap prices, a stacked lineup and amazing weather, Forbidden Kingdom is a festival to look out for.

4. Ubbi Dubbi Festival

Ubbi Dubbi, Texas’ newest springtime EDM festival looks to be a promising addition, with its phase 1 lineup announcing a diverse lineup - from trap to dubstep to techno and house- , that will have something for everyone. Taking place at Fort Worth at Panther Island Pavillion on April 27-28, the event will kick off early festival season and no doubt be a newcomer on the scene.

3. Shaky Beats Music Festival

Shaky Knee’s younger, rave-driven sister festival Shaky Beats is back in 2019 for its 3rd year on May 10-11 in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2018, Shaky Beats saw headliners like Kygo, Marshmello, Zedd, Excision, Dillon Francis and Seven Lions sprinkled in with hip hop artists Playboi Carti and Ludacris. The festival has previously hosted other big names like Porter Robinson, ODESZA, Major Lazer, Nas, and A$AP Ferg to name a few. Be on the lookout for Shaky Beats’ lineup drop on Tuesday January 8th!

2. Phoenix Lights Festival

The fifth annual Phoenix Lights is brought to us by Relentless Beats, the promoters behind Crush, Decadence, Goldrush and other leading Arizona-based EDM events. Held at The Park at Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix on April 5-6, the all ages festival has previously welcomed a mix of electronic and hip-hop to its lineup, with diversity from Martin Garrix, Travis Scott, Brownies & Lemonade, Gramatik and more. So far, the only headliner to be announced has been Kaskade, with more to come.

1. III Points Festival

The sixth edition of III Points is returning February 15-17 in Miami’s Art District with a notoriously bold genre-spanning lineup. With sets running until 5 am, III Points embraces R&B, indie and dance in its eclectic lineup. The three-day event is packed with multiple b2b sets as well as performances from Virtual Self, Peggy Gou, Yaeji and DJ Koze. III Points cancelled 2018 so all eyes are on how the festival will do this year. Granted, the artist-centric vision and its early date will hopefully be a tasteful preview that leads into Miami’s heavy music festival season in later months.
