10 Memorial Weekend Music Festivals Across the US

Across the country,  people are celebrating Memorial Day with more than just a cooler full of Bud and some burgers on the charcoal grill. Though that doesn’t sound half bad, these ten cities in the US decided to take it up a notch this year.

No matter the city, venue, or event, we at iEDM know the following Memorial Day Weekend celebrations are not to be missed! 


1. Sunset Music Festival Tampa, FL May 27th - 28th

Disco Donnie Presents, Sunset Events, and Committee Entertainment Present two nights under the Florida sun. Along with the headlining acts Major Lazer, RL Grime, Above & Beyond, and Zeds Dead, other heavy hitters such as Getter, Ganja White Night, and Snails will be joining the party at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.



2. Summer Camp in Chillicothe, IL May 26th - 28th

Known for being the biggest event in the Midwest every Memorial weekend, Summer Camp Music Festival has made strides each year since opening day in 2001 to improve the quality of their festival. Now, 16 years later, Summer Camp is home to over 20,000 attendees every year, 100 bands, and 7 stages each year.



3. SoundSet in St. Paul, MN May 28th

SoundSet is a one-day event that has broken away from the electronic music trend that is spreading like a wildfire across the country. Speaking of fire, if you’re into rap and hip hop, this lineup brings the heaters. Of course, Atmosphere wouldn’t be missing this gig in their hometown in St. Paul. With him, rap icons like Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, and T.I. will be laying down tracks for all the boys and girls.



4. Sasquatch! Music Festival in George, WA May 26th - 29th

Back again at the beautiful Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, Sasquatch! Music Festival provides music and comedy lovers of all kinds with three nights of celebration this Memorial Day Weekend. With the recent addition of LCD Soundsystem to the mixed lineup of hip hop, electronic, and alternative, Sasquatch! has a little something for everyone.



5. Movement in Detroit, MI May 27th - 29th

Each year, thousands of people join in union in the birthplace of techno, Detroit, for three nights at Movement Music Festival. Though Detroit is known for its electronic scene, Movement 2017 will also feature hip hop artists like Earl Sweatshirt and Juicy J



6.Lightning in a Bottle in Bradley, CA May 24th - 29th

Make way to the West Coast this Memorial Day Weekend for this all natural festival known as Lightning in a Bottle. This year Bassnectar joins the festivities along with other great acts such as Rufus Du Sol, Troyboi, Bonobo, Barclay Crenshaw, and much more.



7. DelFest in Cumberland, MD May 25th - 28th

This jam and bluegrass festival held in Maryland provides fun for the whole family on Memorial Day Weekend. Gov’t Mule, the Infamous Stringdusters, and two sets from the Trey Anastasio Band will be sure get you moving. Make sure to show up to the festival early for the Delfest Academy: workshops with some of the finest musicians in bluegrass.



8. Dreamstate in San Francisco, CA May 26th - 27th

Escape reality and join the world of dreamstate this Memorial Day weekend in San Francisco. Presented by Insomniac, all trance, all the time. Catch legends like Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, and Vini Vici and have an unforgettable weekend.



9. Boston Calling in Allston, Ma May 26th - 28th

Another hybrid comedy-music festival, Boston Calling provides a diverse lineup for all different tastes in music and humor. Don’t miss Major Lazer or the hilarious likings of Hannibal Buress this Memorial Day Weekend.



10. Neon Desert Music Festival in El Paso, TX May 27th - 28th

Held in the heart of downtown El Paso, Texas, Neon Desert Music Festival isn’t a Memorial Day Weekend event to be overlooked. Along with electronic acts like Hardwell, Alesso, and Thomas Jack, Neon Desert also provides a fair amount of hip hop and alternative such as Foster The People, Migos, Nelly, and Ghostland Observatory.
