New Orleans-based DJ duo Dr. Romance has officially stepped into the world of original music production with their debut single, “Chemistry.”

Known for their dynamic performances and leadership within the city’s house music scene, the duo—comprised of Dr. Jax and Romancing The Stoned—has built a loyal following through their energetic sets and influential event curation. With years of experience behind the decks, their first release marks an exciting new chapter in their career as they expand their creative vision beyond the stage.

Dr. Romance has cemented themselves as key figures in the New Orleans dance music community. They have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Gordo, Noizu, SIDEPIECE, Chris Lake, Zeds Dead, Nostalgix, and Malaa.

Their presence extends beyond DJing, as they also run Pure Intentions Entertainment (P.I.E.), a promotion company responsible for hosting some of the most notable electronic music events in the region. From intimate house parties to large-scale festival takeovers, they have consistently delivered unforgettable experiences to their growing fanbase.

“Chemistry” introduces listeners to Dr. Romance’s signature style, blending smooth piano melodies with a driving house beat. The track features soulful vocal elements, layered percussion, and an infectious groove that makes it a perfect fit for dance floors and late-night sets alike.

The duo described their vision for the track, saying, “‘Chemistry’ was created with the intention of showing our unique chemistry as a DJ duo. We wanted our first release to reflect the special bond we share over our love of house music. Some may say this track is more downtempo compared to our usual style of performance, but we feel it is the perfect way to introduce ourselves to the world as producers.”

Fans got the chance to hear “Chemistry” live at Dr. Romance’s release party on February 1 at The Rabbit Hole, followed by performances supporting Loud Luxury and Disco Lines for Super Bowl weekend.

Their highly anticipated Mardi Gras event, The Pure Way Ball IV: Cosmic Candyland, is also set to return, promising another standout experience for the local dance music scene.
