Miami Music Week has taken over nearly every corner of the city over the years, but 2026 introduces something entirely new. For the first time, the historic racetrack at Hialeah Park Casino will transform into a massive open-air dancefloor as Black Coffee headlines Open Air at the Racetrack, presented by Club Space.

The event marks a unique crossover between Miami’s deep nightlife culture and one of the city’s most storied landmarks.

Originally opened in 1922 as America’s first greyhound track to operate under a pari-mutuel betting system, Hialeah quickly evolved into something far greater. Just two years later the Miami Jockey Club was founded, ushering in an era where horse racing became synonymous with the property.

After a devastating hurricane reshaped the site in 1926, the racetrack was rebuilt into what many called the “world’s most beautiful racecourse,” attracting celebrities, socialites, and international visitors throughout the early 20th century.

Hollywood legends including Frank Sinatra were among those drawn to the venue, while figures like Winston Churchill visited during its golden era.

The property’s architectural and cultural legacy was formally recognized in 1979 when Hialeah Park Racetrack was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Now, nearly a century after its opening, the racetrack is entering another evolution.

This event will transform the Grandstands, the Clubhouse, and the racetrack itself into a massive open-air stage environment. Few artists feel more suited to the setting than Black Coffee, whose deeply atmospheric performances have become some of the most revered in global dance music.

The Grammy Award–winning South African producer has built his reputation on expansive DJ sets that fuse Afro-house rhythms with jazz, soul, and global musical influences.

Rather than relying on spectacle, Black Coffee’s performances unfold as long-form journeys designed for immersive environments, making the racetrack’s sweeping open grounds an ideal backdrop.

Beyond the historic architecture and palm-lined property, Hialeah Park also carries a quieter legacy. The infield remains home to a colony of flamingos that has lived on the grounds for more than a century, earning the property designation as an official Audubon Bird Sanctuary.

When the music begins at sunset, this venue’s past and present will collide in a moment that feels uniquely Miami.
