Belyi & Kirr Deliver Soulful Afro House Groove 'Mr. Deejay' On AFROKHIN

Belyi and Kirr’s latest collaboration, “Mr. Deejay,” out now on AFROKHIN, captures the magic of pure spontaneity in music production.
This track was sparked by a moment of post-show inspiration when Kirr woke up the morning after a late-night set at Shady Pig with a melody looping in his mind. He immediately went to the studio, built a demo within hours, and called on Belyi to complete the vision.
The duo worked swiftly, completing most of the track that same day. “Mr. Deejay” embodies a warm and organic energy, merging Afro-inspired percussion with lush melodic synths and soulful vocals.
The two producers describe the song as a dialogue between artist, DJ, and audience; a sonic exchange that captures the essence of connection on the dancefloor.
In an unexpected twist, the collaborators found their perfect vocalist through an unconventional recommendation. “During the production process, we were introduced to a talented vocalist who performs at weddings and events,” they shared.
“Jeremy delivered an incredible soul performance that elevated the entire track.” His voice became the emotional centerpiece of “Mr. Deejay,” adding depth and human warmth to the hypnotic rhythm.
Beyond the studio, Belyi and Kirr are focused on expanding their creative reach. “Our goal this year is to develop our social media presence and share our vision of stylish electronic music,” they explained. Their approach blends authenticity and precision, shaped by years of refining their sound within the Afro house landscape.
Reflecting on their growth, the duo revealed, “Since we started writing Afro house, we have developed a sound that stands apart from other producers. Now we are experimenting with the Latin Afro house sub-genre.”
That evolution has led to significant milestones, including a standout release on MoBlack Records that topped the Beatport Afro House chart for a month and earned a place on the label’s 13th golden vinyl compilation.
With upcoming plans for a hybrid live show at sunset and ambitions to perform at festivals like Tomorrowland, Sonar, and Burning Man, Belyi and Kirr continue to push the boundaries of Afro and melodic house.
