“Going Under,” the brand-new collaborative release from biskuwi, Andrea Botez, and Sarah de Warren, lands as a deeply intentional techno cut, both musically and symbolically. Dropping in tandem with Transgender Day of Visibility, the track puts a spotlight on biskuwi’s journey as a trans artist and continues her push toward broader representation within electronic music.

The track begins with Sarah de Warren’s unmistakable voice, subtly layered with evolving effects that give the production space to breathe and expand. biskuwi and Botez work in tandem to weave an intense, driving groove, rooted in pulsing basslines and dark melodic textures. It is a sound that feels equally personal and club-ready, merging technical precision with emotional storytelling.

For biskuwi, the creative direction of “Going Under” was shaped from the very first listen of Sarah’s raw vocal delivery. “There was something so raw and vulnerable in her delivery that instantly pulled us into darker waters,” she explained.

We wanted to embrace that emotional rawness by crafting instrumentation that matched both the melancholy and aggression we felt in her voice. This track became our personal journey of surrendering to those emotions, creating a space where beauty and darkness could intertwine authentically.”

Andrea Botez, who balances a rising DJ and producer career alongside her prominence in the chess world, saw this collaboration as a personal milestone. After becoming captivated by Sarah’s vocals in earlier tracks, Andrea pursued this opportunity to blend their creative visions.

She emphasized that “Going Under” is a reflection of her darker melodic tendencies and the collaborative process with Sarah, particularly in crafting the spoken word elements.

Following their 2024 collaboration “Queen’s Gambit,” biskuwi and Botez reunite here with a more intense and intentional direction. Both artists continue to rise through underground techno spaces — they recently earned spots at Berlin’s famed Ritter Butzke while Botez has seen early success in 2025 with official remixes for Kaskade alongside biskuwi and Boris Brejcha.

As this trio steps into a pivotal year, “Going Under” underscores how authenticity, shared identity, and sonic experimentation can align to push boundaries within the dance music landscape.
