Remembering Avicii: 5 Songs That Made Avicii Legendary In Dance Music

Beloved Swedish DJ/producer Avicii passed away today at age 28. 

EDM fans across the world are mourning at the loss of one of the most influential producers to modern day dance music. 

No cause for the death has been released, however his publicist Diana Baron did confirm that he was found dead in Muscat, Oman. 

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii," Baron said via statement. "He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."

Two years ago, the producer retired from touring due to health issues. He had acute pancreatitis, which he told TIME was caused by drinking. The DJ was known for partying, so much that Mike Posner's hit lyrics "I took a pill in Ibiza, to show Avicii I was cool.." which he says in this interview was true. 

During his life, Avicii has performed with Madonna, been nominated for two Grammys for "Levels" and "Wake Me Up."
