Rave in the Snow: The Chainsmokers and Bassnectar to Headline Winter X Games Concerts

| January 25, 2017

The Winter X Games is an extreme sports event where the greatest winter sport athletes come together from across the world to compete annually in Aspen, Colorado.

There will be daytime and nighttime competitions for snowboarding, skiing, and snowmobiling. This 4-day event takes over the city of Aspen as viewers and enthusiasts come together to watch their favorite snowboarders shred the fresh powder.

And of course with any great sporting event comes great parties. The X Games hosts a 3-day music festival of top artists to play in the mountains giving a unique frosty concert experience.

EDM is officially in the mainstream as The Chainsmokers and Bassnectar headline the X Games Concerts, along with G-Easy and Anderson .Pakk & The Free Nationals.

Time to pull out those hoodies and fur, because the concerts are held outside with a predicted high of a whopping 25 degrees F. Bassheads will be traveling cross country to rage in the snowy outdoor venue at Buttermilk Mountain.

This will be unlike any rave most of us have attended. We've braved the desert sun at EDC Vegas, but snow boots aren't the typical rave fashion. Time to whip out those fur coats and hoods and bundle up in your cutest *winter* rave attire.

Once you get in the crowd, the heat from everyone headbanging at Bassnectar will warm it up. And if you really don't want to brave the snow, the Belly Up Aspen will be hosting concerts inside their venue downtown Aspen.

Bassnectar plays Friday, The Chainsmokers and Anderson .Pakk are Saturday and G-Easy closes it out on Sunday. Concert ticket options include single night events or full weekend passes.

Gear up in your warmest snow attire and get ready to watch the best snowmobile trick during the day and rage to your favorite EDM duo The Chainsmokers at night.

Thank you ESPN for combining our favorite extreme sports with our favorite artists for a weekend of snowtopia fun deep in the Rocky Mountains. And if you aren't from Colorado, don't be alarmed by phrases like "pow-pow" and "gnar" because you'll catch yourself saying them by the end of the X Games too.
