5 Festivals To Attend This Labor Day Weekend

| August 19, 2016

Labor Day weekend marks the end of summer months. More importantly, it marks the end of festival season. This is the last chance to get lost in the music and embrace all that festivals have to offer until next year.

There’s so many options that it might seem a bit overwhelming but we’ve got you covered. No matter what region of the country you are in, there are events happening everywhere. Grab your friends and start planning - here are 5 ways to embrace the end of the festival season.

1. Electric Zoo

If you’re based in New York City or the surrounding areas, it’s hard to miss a hometown festival. It’s easy, it’s right there, and it’s always awesome. Electric Zoo takes place on Randall’s Island, which if you can navigate the subway systems, everything is only a hop skip and a jump away. Not to mention the Pokemon Go situation in NYC is pretty unreal.

Since it’s based somewhere around New York City, it’s guaranteed that unless the performing DJs are on their way to fly across the country to another festival, they’ll probably stick around. After parties are only half the fun, but it’s definitely an added bonus in the city that never sleeps. Check out iEDM for our Electric Zoo collection for all your animal needs.

2. Sun City Music Festival

The Sun City Music Festival line up is lit. Well, that’s the best way to put it honestly. Their headlining artists The Chainsmokers and Skrillex are dominating the charts right now. What better way to close out the summer then by jamming to all the tracks that made your summer.

We already know Texas gets hot, but don’t worry they’ve thought of everything. Following in the footsteps of some of its predecessors, the festival doesn’t start until 5pm and ends at 2am. The blazing sun beaming down and burning you will not be a problem at this festival.

3. Burning Man

Burning Man is one of the most widely known and notorious events in the world. This is not for the faint of the heart, but it will be one of the greatest experiences of your life. Unlike the other ones on this list, Burning Man is not a festival you can wake up and decide to go to. It takes extreme planning and we wouldn’t recommend going alone.

Burning Man takes place in Nevada and unlike most festivals, it is an entire 8 days long. For 8 days you will become a community based almost entirely on the barter system. It is more than just a festival, it is an entire experience.

4. Backwoods Music Festival

We all want to get away and experience the last few days of festival season for all they have to offer. Escape the world and attend a camping festival like Backwoods to end your festival season on the best note possible.

Located in the woods of Oklahoma, this festival has risen to the spotlight in recent years because of their outstanding multi-genre lineups. This year's headliners include Nero, Big Gigantic, Moe., and Nahko and Medicine for the People.

5. Bumbershoot

Located in Seattle Washington, Bumbershoot will be celebrating its 46th anniversary this Labor Day Weekend. The growing festival is one of the largest festivals in North America.

The lineup has everything from Zeds Dead, Jai Wolf, to Kygo, and that’s just the first day. Taking place in Seattle, you can expect more from just good music at this festival. Vendors line up to sell everything from art to international foods. There are visual art exhibits in addition to comedy shows to keep you laughing all day.

This is not your typical festival and that’s what makes it so great. This has something for everyone to ensure a great labor day weekend.
