Electric Forest Unveils Breathtaking Documentary & 2022 Dates

To celebrate its upcoming 10-year anniversary, Electric Forest has debuted a stunning documentary titled A Million Shining Lights - 10 Years Of Electric Forest. After a challenging hiatus due to the pandemic, the festival will officially be back in its full glory. Alongside the documentary, the festival has announced the official dates for its 2022 reunion. Set to take place from June 23–26, 2022, Electric Forest will return to its treasured home in Rothbury, Michigan.

Electric Forest has a rich history and massive influence on the current festival climate. The documentary gives an exclusive firsthand perspective through an awe-inspiring trip down memory lane. It reflects on everything from the festival's inception to the enchanting moments that are forever embedded in the hearts of the Forest Family.

Although it may be difficult to fathom now, Electric Forest was brought to life during a time when it was unheard of for electronic and jam music or their respective communities to coexist. There were strong doubts about the potential success of the location, with some viewing the lush forestry as an obstacle for an outdoor music venue. Founders saw the serene space as an opportunity to create a radical shift in the festival curation world. While others were highly cynical, organizers fearlessly pursued their vision of a sonic haven with its very own multifaceted community.

This focus on cultivating a connected community with an emphasis on an intimate, interactive environment is what truly distinguishes Electric Forest. The documentary also shares moving accounts from attendees expressing how the festival has altered their lives.

The sense of freedom and welcoming energy is abundant at Electric Forest, making it a safe space for all. Artists such as The Disco Biscuits, Clozee, Griz, and 12th Planet also shared their personal forest stories. Perhaps the most touching account came from a deaf attendee. She described how the vibrations of the music and the profound art installations make her feel a sense of purpose and interconnectedness.
