Your Newest Obsession: Matt Mcguire Drums

| November 18, 2016

If you're reading this, I need you stop everything else you're doing and focus. What I am about to show you will change your life in the best way possible.

We all love a good cover and a good remix. Sometimes we even like it better than the original, which can make us feel guilty. How can we like someone else’s take on a song over the person who actually created it?

Right now, there is a guy out there who is covering songs with his drums and it will make your heart stop and restart again. Matt Mcguire is a drummer from Australia and is basically the love child between the trap gods, the demons of dubstep, and a drumming prodigy. Put all those three things together and you have Matt, an Australian-based live session drummer/audio engineer/performer.

To anyone who ever swooned over the drummer in the basement band back in high school, I have found your new crush and your new obsession.

Some of the EDM tracks he’s done so far have been:
Alone – Marshmello
Fire  3LAU
Closer – The Chainsmokers
Emotional   Flux Pavillion
Raga Bomb – Skrillex

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. He takes songs that are already amazing, and finds a way to make them ever more phenomenal. If you've ever wondered if a song can get any better, send it to Matt to cover and it will somehow transform into a masterpiece.

He even creates his own dubstep mixes combining songs from Excision, Zomboy, and so many more. Imagine the greatest dubstep set you’ve ever heard but with live drums.

There’s a little punk-rock/ emo kid in all of us still and Matt knows how to turn the EDM jams we know and love into rock hard bangers. You can just see the passion he has for what he does with each video he makes.

Someone please get this guy to New York ASAP, or quite frankly anywhere in the U.S, because my heart physically needs it.

Follow/stalk him on instagram and twitter and see all of his newest videos. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
