10 Reasons To Attend Meow Wolf's Taos Vortex 2019

Taos Vortex will be coming back for it's second year this August 16-18th, 2019. As a brainchild of Meow Wolf, we expect it to be nothing short of whimsically amazing. If you have heard anything about the magical adventure that is known as Meow Wolf, you know to expect an immersive and unique experience.

Meow Wolf is a creative conglomeration that has rapidly emerged from Santa Fe, New Mexico in the past several years. The group as been seeing exponential movement and success as many flock to support. Santa Fe is is the home of their gallery and venue space that attendees travel cross country to experience and attend shows. 

Looking to expand to Las Vegas, Denver and Washington D.C, Meow Wolf has started its expansion with Taos Vortex - we are beyond excited to see how this collective of ingenious creators change the way in which we relate to art. We picked 10 reasons you should make it out to Taos Vortex.

 

10. Desert Hearts Takeover

The eccentric group that has come to be known as Desert Hearts runs on a platforms of House, Techno and Love. After years of renegade, intimate desert parties, Desert Hearts began paving the way for these special family-oriented gatherings around the world. House and techno have long since been the core roots of electronic music and the evolution of the sound as well as the experience are continuously being revived and uplifted. 9. Camp Breakfast 

Taos Vortex is providing an option to get a pass to enjoy locally-sourced breakfast! The breakfast will include burritos, omelettes, breakfast tacos, french toast & more with meat, vegetarian and vegan options. 

 

 

8.  It's located in Taos, New Mexico

New Mexico is known as the land of Enchantment and when visiting Taos you can see exactly why. With it's picturesque landscapes, indescribable sunsets and adobe- style architecture, Taos is a hidden gem. Find time to explore the city and make your way to the Rio Grande on your trip!

 

 

7. Flying Lotus 3D

The ever-changing, amorphous Flying Lotus is bringing his 3D experience to Taos Vortex; a perfectly appropriate act for the ever so immersive and interactive Meow Wolf music festival. Find him as one of the headliner sets on Saturday. 

 

 

6. Pussy Power House

Meow Wolf and Power Pussy House have joined forces to create an unforgettable interactive encounter based around feminine power and mindful practices. Catch late night performances from the empowering collaborators. 

 

 

5. Theatre Brunch on Sunday

Sunday morning offers a special Theatre Brunch. With the purchase of a pass, you will experience a three course meal curated by Dig & Serve. You will enjoy you meal in the comfort of the Vibe Hut followed by something very special. 

 

 

4. Off-site Adventures

If you find yourself wanting to enjoy more of the surround environments, take some time to explore some of the various off-site adventures suggested by Taos Vortex. Some of these activities include a brewery tour, floating down Rio Grande and exploring a cave, hot air balloon rides and more. 

 

 

3. Zhu

Zhu creates a futuristic world the listener can transpose themselves. A world of deep, dark mystery and futuristic ambience. He drives the crowd on a journey of their own mind using his music as a guide. Don't miss this awe-inspiring act.

 

 

2. Claude VonStroke & Barclay Crenshaw

A lot of electronic music lovers are familiar with Dirtybird pioneer Claude VonStroke and his curated events but fewer know about "side project" Barclay Crenshaw. Turns out Barclay Crenshaw is the mastermind behind Claude VonStroke. Barclay releases his first album under his own name in 2017 and dug into his hip-hop roots. The lucky attendees of Taos Vortex will have a special chance to witness BOTH Claude VonStroke and Barclay Crenshaw headline in the same weekend.
