5 Tracks You Need On Your Summer Playlist

5 Tracks You Need On Your Summer Playlist

| June 14, 2016

June has arrived, which also means that summer is officially here *cue angels singing.* I mean let’s be real, who doesn’t love summer? It’s festival season, killer shows get announced left and right, and we all get to frolic in the sun and feel tropical AF.

We live for carefree, summer moments like piling our friends into a car and making impromptu trips to the beach, driving with the windows down, and basking in the feeling of having the sun on our faces and the wind in our hair; while bumping the finest summery tunes. But one thing that truly makes these moments unforgettable and everlasting is the music played during these moments.

So while making your summer 2k16 playlists, make sure you have these 5 must-have tracks on them, and thrive for that moment when you get handed the aux cord and see the smiles on your friends faces as they groove to your song choices.

1) 'On My Mind'- Don Diablo

You gotta start your playlist off with a bang, and this track will do the trick. we've all heard this song by now considering that it's being played by the masses but there's just something about it that makes you want to frolic and dance in the sun on the beach with your best friends. No? Just me? Well, before you judge, see for yourself.

2) 'No'- HNNY

Now THIS is the song that you got to play driving with the windows down. It's chill, deep, yet ever so simple melody is infectious and featured the vocals from infamous TLC song ‘No Scrubs’, offering a completely different perspective of song that is bound to become a summer classic.

3) 'Fakin' It' - Kaskade & Felix Cartal

Kaskade and Felix Cartal join forces to bring you the long anticipated release of ‘Fakin’ It’. But there's nothing fake about this song, it’s very beginning reeling you in with Ofelia K’s sweet-like-honey sound and lyrics. Be prepared to kick back at the nearest beach to this melodic, laid-back tune and close your eyes as it’s delicate elements of piano that have been flawlessly incorporated into the track wash over you.

4) 'Paradise'- TACACHO ft. Cider Sky

Let the title speak for itself and create the illusion of what true paradise feels like. TACACHO’s brilliant incorporation of the saxophone makes this song a staple tropical house song. All you’re missing is a pina colada and sunnies.

5) 'King' (Chris Lake Remix)- GRADES

Chris Lake makes us feel like royalty with his take on GRADES ‘King’ and is nothing short of groovy, just like the other massive releases this master of funky house music has released like ‘Stomper’ and ‘Stranger’. It’s fun, fresh and tech-y bassline won’t be able to make you stand still, so it’s probably not the best idea to listen to this while driving because warning: you will have a case of happy feet and won’t be able to stop grooving.
