A Place to Dance in France: Exploring the Scene
Where would we be in dance music without France? Daft Punk and Justice are probably some of the artists and names you think of with French dance music. There are so many great producers that have come from the land of France and flood the scene in all areas of music.
For example, I bet you didn’t know that Kanye West’s second to last most recent album, was produced by a Paris dwelling DJ. Paris is the fashion capital of the world. It’s a place filled with art and wonderful music. We’ll take a look at some of the top producers and DJs in the scene and various hotspots and events around the country.
Artists to Look out For
One of our first top Js goes by Surkin or Benoit Heitz. He has produced major remixes for Justice and Boyz Noize. He was also responsible for co-producing the single Bring the Noize. He has a wide range of influences as he draws from techno, house and deep bass to make some stellar music.
Another hit star goes by the name of Mimi Xu. She is the DJ behind the majority of fashion week soundtracks. She’s played at Versace events all the way to Chloe and Alexander McQueen. Her style is a mix of disco and some funky house to throw down a cool eclectic beat.
We get to our superstar who produced two songs on Kanye West’s album, Black Skinhead and Send it Up. Gesaffelstein was instrumental in producing for Kanye to show off that signature bass heavy aspect of his music.
Aside from the top talent hailing from France, incredible venues await those that embark on heading to these mystical places.
