Brooke Forman Drops "Uncharted" Music Video, And You Need To See It

This is what you need to be doing this Friday night. Like, right this very second.

Buckle down, because iEDM is hooking you up with a music video that you need to see with your very own eyes. If "Uncharted" doesn't get you jazzed for the upcoming weekend, we don't know what will.

One of our favorite people in the EDM community just dropped her latest, and it will absolutely be the talk of the town tomorrow when it comes to new releases.

Brooke Forman put her blood, sweat, and tears into "Uncharted." Working alongside co-writer and producer Benny Reiner, the Grammy Award winning drummer of Broadway's Hamilton, the duo crafted a video that is a true pleasure to feast your eyes on.

"I wanted to try something that pushed me out of my comfort zone to make me feel vulnerable because that is the raw state of emotion that is happening in the song. For me, that was dance, something that I have never done before, but wanted to travel to a place creatively that was 'Uncharted' territory just like the lyrics of the song," says Forman. "I was a bit nervous to attempt something so unfamiliar, but for me, the most important thing was not about being the best dancer, but to tell the truth of the story the song represents through movement alongside of an extremely beautiful contemporary dancer."

Brooke wrote the record when she was at that extreme point of vulnerability when she was in love.

"I was too afraid to say those words out loud to him so my way of communicating was by writing this song. The lyrics, 'to be loyal, yet to be free' pretty much sums me up as a person. I love to love, and I am extremely loyal like a lion. However, I need someone who trusts and understands my nomadic need to roam free," she states. "I gave him the song with hand written lyrics on paper, put it on his bed with a pair of headphones and candles lit in the room, as my way of saying, 'I love you.' He broke up with me the next day and although he left as my ex, I was left with the birth of this song 'Uncharted.'"

Before dropping the video for the world to see, Brooke exclusively told iEDM that she played with color scheme in the video to symbolize the different parts of what a relationship looks like.

"When [the video] starts off in that happy butterfly state, the colors are all warm. They start getting cool once there is distance and tension between us," the singer explained to iEDM. "As we run back together to unite, it dramatically shifts back to a warm color until we split from the hug and I push him into the sand. It then goes back to a cool blue to represent the relationship ending."
