[EVENT REVIEW] Afterlife LA Delivers World-Renowned Tour to Western USA

The highly anticipated two-day Afterlife LA event hosted by Framework Events and Goldenvoice at LA State Historic Park pulverized expectations in all regards, from its stage design and set quality to venue and logistical operations.

Afterlife LABefore reaching the venue’s entrance, the stunningly massive LED stage was visible from blocks away, immediately establishing the prestige Afterlife’s production demands from its organizers in order to deliver the experience thousands of fans desire from the label.

Upon closer observation, it was evident that the stage was adorned with lighting installations framing the LED screen, as well as dozens of lasers and an ample amount of fog to enhance the visual effects.

Afterlife LADay One featured Afterlife veterans Julya Karma, Kevin de Vries, Argy, and MRAK presents: We Don’t Follow as support preceding the headlining Tale of Us. In similarly impressive fashion, Day Two’s lineup was graced by Layla Benitez, Cassian, Adriatique, and Anyma’s GENESYS before Tale of Us closed out the weekend.

Afterlife LAAll of the artists, however MRAK in particular, had a stunning ability to keep the audience dancing for hours on end. Although Afterlife’s style of techno tends to stand out as a culmination of beautiful and steady melodies, the artists’ dexterity on the decks provided the crowd with additional energy to continue dancing. 

Afterlife LASince the event was backed by Goldenvoice and Framework Events, Afterlife LA was masterfully organized to maximize the space available within LA State Historic Park. There were plenty of restrooms, water facilities, bars, and food options on both sides of the expansive crowd, which allowed for efficient movement throughout the venue. 

Afterlife LAOverall, Afterlife LA was a memorable experience that left the West Coast melodic techno scene fulfilled by the event they had been anticipating for so long. Following the massive success of this event, fans remain hopeful that Los Angeles will become a recurring destination in the future of Afterlife’s continuous global tour.
