Festival Season Is Far From Over: 5 Winter Fests You Should Be Attending
We long for and cherish our beloved festival memories of frolicking around in the sun, listening to our favorite beats and making everlasting memories with our dearest friends, as we helplessly re-watch our old videos and scroll through old pictures counting down the days until festival season is upon us again. But think again...
Spring/Summer is not the only time for festivals- you'll be surprised to know that the winter festival season is POPPIN'.
Winter isn't just for baking holiday cookies, wearing fuzzy socks and watching Christmas movies because winter festivals are most definitely a thing. So on that note, pack your parka, mittens and round up your best pals- here are 5 fests that you definitely should be attending this winter season:
1) SnowGlobe | South Lake Tahoe, California | Dec. 29-31, 2016
Imagine a ski trip with your best pals combined with a music festival but minus the skiing- that's what SnowGlobe is. When you're 80 years old and it's blizzard-ing outside, you can dramatically look out the window whilst reflecting on your youthful days and be like "back in my day, I used to RAVE in this weather."
It's pretty much a given that the atmosphere and concept of this festival is unlike any other- and they make sure to have a star-studded lineup every year. This year's lineup features the freshest artists in the game such as Flume, RUFÜS DÜ SOL, RL Grime, The Chainsmokers, Hotel Garuda, Dirtybird's finest Billy Kenny & Justin Jay and so many more. Consider your NYE weekend booked- just make sure not to forget your parkas and sickest rave-wear, and yes- hot cocoa will be provided!
2) Decadence NYE | Denver, Colorado & Phoenix, Arizona | Dec. 30 + 31, 2016
Powered by AEG Live, Live Nation and Global Dance, the 6th annual Decadence NYE will be a city of dreams- a wonderland that opens your eyes to a whole new world of music and elegance, and sets the bar for what NYE events should be.
The term "decadence" means "luxurious self-indulgence" which embodies all that Decadence NYE is about. They say you're supposed to ring in the New Year in the best way possible so that the upcoming year is just as good- in translation, there's no other way to ring in the New Year than at Decadence; whether you choose Decadence Arizona with Deadmau5, Chainsmokers and Porter Robinson or Decadence Colorado with Marshmello, Eric Prydz, Bassnectar and more.

3) Holy Ship! 8.0 & 9.0 | January 6th-10th & January 10th-14th, 2017
With winter comes the winter blues, and you might find yourself with the burning desire to get away from the cold and switch it up with a more ~tropical~ setting. HARD Presents' very own Holy Ship! has prided itself on being one of the prolific festivals of the year, every year- and is always stacked with a lineup touched by the hand of God. One statement that sums up everything about Holy Ship! in a nutshell is "holy sh*t."
This year's Holy Ship! 8.0 and 9.0 have been sold-out for quite some time, but you can try your luck with getting your name on the wait list and crossing your fingers. This week long cruise sailing from Florida will make its way to Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau, Bahamas for 4 days of non-stop partying; and the bond that the fellow ship-goers and artists make with one another are bonds that cannot be formed anywhere else. I mean, it's literally a festival on a cruise ship- need I say more?
4) Lights All Night | Dallas, Texas & El Paso, Texas | Dec. 30 + 31st & Dec. 31st
Flashing lights all night, your body becoming one with the beats while you're surrounded by your best friends and loved ones, and the pure bliss radiating from your soul as you think to yourself "I want this moment to last forever- Welcome to Lights All Night.
I remember I would always see everyone on Twitter tweeting about LAN and how insane the lineup was every year, so it's safe to say that LAN is a definite move that you have to make at one point during your lifetime. LAN will be taking place in two separate locations this year: the El Paso Convention Center on 12/31 and the Dallas Market Hall on 12/30 + 12/31, and both dates/locations are bringing artists like Above & Beyond, Deadmau5, Rezz, Tchami, legend Wolfgang Gartner, Zedd and more to bring you a weekend that will exceed even your wildest dreams.

5) Gem & Jam | Tuscon, Arizona | Feb. 3rd-5th, 2017
Gem & Jam is truly a hidden gem of a festival in the heart of Tuscon, Arizona, and it is severely underrated in my opinion. If you love Electric Forest and Elements and prefer low-key fests that focus on incorporating arts, music and culture into intimate atmospheres, then Gem & Jam is gonna be a whole other level of heaven for you.
On the weekend of February 3rd to the 5th, Arizona's Pima County Fairgrounds will be turned into a dreamland of lights, installations, interactive performances, boutique & RV camping and of course, your favorite artist flooding your soul with tunes. This year's Gem & Jam is bringing artists like Gramatik, G Jones, Opiuo, the Desert Hearts crew consisting of Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds & Marbs, and much more hidden talent from all sorts of unique genres- following previous lineup's featuring Tycho (DJ Set), Giraffage and Purity Ring,
