KRANE Gives Back With 'SESSIONS Vol. 2' In An Exclusive Interview

| June 28, 2018

Talk about creating a level playing field!

KRANE is a man of the people, and is using his pull to open the doors for underground producers who are looking to make a name for themselves in the electronic dance music game. With names ranging from Awoltalk to Max Styler, KRANE invited producers all around the world to participate in his unique, and ambitious project.

SESSIONS Vol. 2 is everything that EDM fans crave. The 8-track experience doesn't play politics. No genre is left untouched; giving listeners a little bit of everything this summer season. iEDM had the opportunity to talk with KRANE in an exclusive interview about his latest project, and his passion for music.

"Over the last few years, to get to this point, every little thing has been built on the last thing," KRANE reveals to iEDM. "I take a step back and appreciate how fortunate I am. To see the work paying off is validating, and really exciting."

For KRANE, it's been a journey that he could have never predicted. Having a 9-5 job before entering the industry, he realizes that his life could have taken a whole different direction if it wasn't for the EDM community. With SESSIONS Vol. 2, it is KRANE's golden opportunity to give back to those who might share a similar road traveled.

"I had a totally different career before this. Ever since I was a little kid, music has always been a huge part of my life," says the producer. "As a listener, and then a guitar player; a bass player. I've always been really interested in learning about music, listening to it, and understanding it."

KRANE developed an interest in electronic music after talking to a friend that happened to be a producer. He quickly realized that trap music was a thing. It wasn't long after that specific conversation where he ran out to purchase production software, and immediately fell in love with the process of making it.

"It was refreshing. I didn't listen to too much electronic music," KRANE confesses. "I didn't have a clear appreciation of just how electric and how amazing it had gotten. I knew about house music and the mainstream stuff."

The producer started to grind away, and opened his ears to the sounds of California.

"Hearing what was going on out in LA, I suddenly heard things that I loved in music, in this electronic environment," KRANE says. "I was like, 'This is great. I can totally do this. I love this.' A few years later, I'm here."

His collaborators are thrilled with his recent success. KRANE is overjoyed that he gets to help his fellow artists; giving them a platform where new fans are born. Happiness is what makes the producer tick, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

"I think what's important for me is to be happy. To be optimistic. When I started this project, I said to myself, 'I'll give myself a year...this whole endeavor is an experiment in seeing how much I can make my career fun and fulfilling; in a way that a 9-5 wasn't for me," KRANE nods. "I'm confident as long as I have that outlook, I can sustain this indefinitely."

Expect to see KRANE having the time of his life over the next few months. He's all about putting out a high quality product for the fans.

"If you're not having fun, you're not making good music. If you're not happy, what's the point?"
