[LISTEN] DROELOE Presents His Immersive Debut Solo Album, 'The Art of Change'

DROELOE, the visionary Dutch artist known for his groundbreaking contributions to the indie and electronic music scenes, has unveiled his debut solo album, The Art Of Change. This release marks a significant milestone in his career, as it is his first full-length album as a solo artist after parting ways with his former artistic partner, Hein Hamers.

The Art Of Change is a captivating musical odyssey that transcends time and space. DROELOE incorporates recorded voice memos as a “feedback loop,” allowing his present self to engage in conversations with his past and future selves. These snippets are derived from audio cassettes and journal entries, serving as stepping stones for personal growth and transformation.

The album takes listeners on a profound journey, evoking emotions of resolution, motivation, gratitude, and fearlessness through tracks like “Downside Up”, “Foolish Fish,” “Landscape,” and “Feeble Games.” Each of these moments is vividly visualized by the acclaimed artist FuniLab, who has crafted fifteen unique 360-degree animated “worlds” to accompany each track, transforming them into places that can be revisited by DROELOE and his fans.

Explaining his artistic intention, DROELOE states, “This album is a collection of ideas that I find important within my own personal development. It is a journey to turn these ideas into songs and symbolic places, one that helps me to visit those ideas more often. I want to become a more active participant in my own growth, and this album is a step in that direction.”

Leading up to the album's release, DROELOE engaged fans in a series of interactive experiences. Listeners were invited to record their own messages to themselves using voice memos, tape cassettes, or written entries in physical journals available as merchandise. These messages will be returned to the fans after a year, creating a unique and personal connection to the album. Additionally, DROELOE shared a series of written essays that formed the philosophical foundation of The Art Of Change, enriching the listening experience with hidden “Easter eggs,” codes, and games.

DROELOE, The Art Of Change In conjunction with the LP's launch, DROELOE has announced a fall U.S. tour, including headline shows in cities like Portland, Seattle, Denver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Moreover, DROELOE will join forces with San Holo on the Existential Dance Music tour, making stops in New York, Detroit, Chicago, and other nightlife-heavy hotspots.
