Today, the dance music scene experiences a seismic shift as WHYNOTUS, the brainchild of DJ/producer Malóne, unveils its inaugural compilation, MIAMI GROOVE VA. Guiding listeners on a journey through six tech house and Afro house anthems, this project delivers a fusion of cultural vibrancy and pulsating rhythms, igniting excitement among fans and industry insiders alike.

What distinguishes MIAMI GROOVE VA is its ability to transcend borders, uniting artists with roots in various countries including Venezuela, Nicaragua, Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Bolivia, Cuba, Israel, and the USA. Each track served as a testament to the rich tapestry of global influences that permeate through the veins of dance music.

The compilation commenced with Get It,” a mesmerizing offering from Amal Nemer, setting the tone with its hypnotic percussion and enchanting vocals. Nemer was born in Venezuela to Lebanese parents, and has become a shining example of the power of fusing sounds from different cultures.

Reflecting on her contribution, Nemer remarked, “‘Get It’ is a track that makes you bounce up and down. It has crazy vocals and melodies that make you feel everything. Just when you think the drop is coming, the track makes you wait a little bit more. I love the effect this has on the dance floor.”

In addition to Nemer’s “Get It,” the compilation was bolstered by contributions from Morpei, Damelo, Sounds Of Rituals, Pablo Alhach, Des & Del, DZR, and Sabrosura Boyz, showcasing the diverse talent pool assembled by WHYNOTUS.

Israeli Afro house producer Sounds Of Rituals and Colombian producer/percussionist Pablo Alhach collaborated on “Tu Sabor,” a Latin-influenced groove boasting a thumping bassline and enchanting horns. This track is so infectious that it is impossible to sit still while listening to it.

California-based artist DZR joined forces with in-state brethren Sabrosura Boyz to create “BAPU,” which features tribal undertones and a unique female vocal in the buildup. BAPU’s smooth production means it will be easy to get lost in as you dance the night away.

The compilation also featured ‘No Me Importa,’ an irresistible track from Bolivian house music pioneer Morpei. The song deploys captivating female vocals over a percussion-laden bassline that will surely be a dancefloor favorite in the coming months.

Malóne, the Cuban-born, Miami-based visionary behind WHYNOTUS, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “One of the main reasons I started WHYNOTUS was to put out dope music from talented artists all over the world and showcase them at our live event series. ‘MIAMI GROOVE VA’ is packed with some serious heat.”

MIAMI GROOVE VA not only epitomized WHYNOTUS’ commitment to championing emerging artists but also served as a testament to Malóne’s prowess in curating infectious grooves rooted in his cultural heritage. As the label continues to pave the way for the future of house music, it positions itself as a beacon for bridging the gap between underground acts and mainstage notoriety.

With his undeniable talent and unwavering dedication to his craft, Malóne’s star status continues to ascend within the electronic dance music landscape. From his residency at Space Miami to chart-topping releases and forthcoming performances at esteemed venues worldwide, Malóne's trajectory in 2024 is nothing short of meteoric.

As fans immerse themselves in the intoxicating rhythms of MIAMI GROOVE VA, one thing becomes abundantly clear: WHYNOTUS is not just a label or an event brand—it is a movement, poised to redefine the very essence of tech house, afro house, and electronic dance music as a whole.
