Top 10 Festival Art Installations of 2018

| December 20, 2018

So we covered everything from our favorite festival sets to the most essential gear of the year, but there’s one more festival element that we haven’t gone over and it’s this make-or-break factor -- art installations. There’s no denying that art presence has become synonymous with music festivals for many and those festivals that incorporate creative art installations into the experience have attracted festival-goers year after year.

Some front-runners like Coachella continued to innovate with their installations while others like Ultra and Tomorrowland used the stage as a platform for insanely visually-immersive art. Whether you’re there for the gram or there for the music, you’ll appreciate all of the stunning installations these festivals had to offer.

10. Imagine

A literal combination of music and art, this simple, yet beautiful graffiti piano perfectly embodies Imagine's aquatic theme.

9. EDC Las Vegas

This fun underpass and its colors exhibits a neon electric vibe fit for an electric sky playground.

8. Shambhala

Just one of the many unique art pieces displayed around the Shambhala grounds, this paintings uses symmetry in a vibrant, mystical aesthetic.

7. Beyond Wonderland

In character with Beyond's whimsical rabbit hole theme, what better way to grab a drink than with a huge Cheshire cat installation hanging above you?

6. Electric Forest

Keep the rain away and let the sun shine with this dazzling umbrella walkway that decorates and complements the forest.

5. Ultra Miami

The Arcadia spider stage once again stole the spotlight with sinister immersive experience.

4. Okeechobee

This intricately designed shrine temple is one of the highlights of Okeechobee, its magical qualities brought to life by lights against the night sky.

3. Escape: Psycho Circus

These massive, flame-throwing serpents are anything, but underwhelming and more than fit for Insomniac's Annual Halloween event.

2. Coachella

Bringing detail and design to the next level, this cathedral-inspired installation rises to a stunning 72 feet.

1. Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland has continued to master the practice of infusing stage and art and this is its latest grandiose achievement - a gem-studded, dragon that houses the DJ.

Hopefully you feel as inspired as we are after seeing all the beautiful, innovative art installations that festivals had to offer this year!
