What To Wear To A Rave

| September 30, 2017

Since the disco era, dressing up in neon and sparkles has become tradition for rave wear. Raves are a place to get creative with your wardrobe and think outside the box of everyday fashion. Mismatch colors, rock that oversize necklace, and light up the dancefloor with LED flare.

When asking what to wear to a rave, there really is no right or wrong answer. You can rock a style you wouldn’t wear to work, and express yourself with colorful, artsy, comical, or straight up trippy styles.

Comfort is also important when selecting rave wear because you want to be able to dance and move all night long.

The options are endless, so iEDM is here for tips for what to wear to a rave:

1. Wear The Rainbow

Raves are a place to rock vibrant colors.. of the whole rainbow! There's no holding back if you love purple, pink, and lime green. Neon colors are huge at raves too because they stand out, add fun to the crowd, and sometimes glow in black lights. Unleash your inner unicorns and ride the rainbow of life with this Unicorn Spew Hoodie HERE. Check out more vibrant designs in the iEDM Colorful Collection HERE.

2. Be The King (or Queen) Of Light Shows

If you've ever attended a rave, you have seen the guys or gals with the finger lights tripping people out in the crowd. Get yourself aa pair of LED gloves and with a little practice, you'll be mesmerizing your friends. If tutting (dancing with your hands) is not your forte, them try poi. Poi are two lights on the end of strings. When they are manipulated around, poi is a trippy art form anyone can appreciate. Practice makes perfect and thank youtube for the lessons.

3. Accessorize Your Eyes

Goggles have been a recent steampunk inspired trend that has popped up at more raves since our favorite female producer Rezz hit the scene. Goggles are the perfect addition to any rave outfit and look cute even when worn around your head to hold back your hair. They can also protect your eyes dust which makes them popular at Burning Man. Or they can come in kaleidoscope styles as the perfect accessory for the lasers.

4. Be A Rave Kitty

Rep your feline friends with an adorable and silly cat shirt. The Pizza Taco Cat features our favorite munchies with a hungry kitty. If you love cats, then you need to check out the entire iEDM Cat Collection HERE. Grumpy cat or astrocat, there's an aMEOWzing design for you.

5. Get A Little Trippy

Trippy art is what makes a music festival immersive. The best part of events like Electric Forest is walking around the giant installations that make you trip out. Add to the fun with a trippy t-shirt of your own like this Cheshire Cat T-Shirt. Get ready to fall down the rabbit hole with more from the iEDM Trippy Collection HERE.

6. Rep Your Favorite Music

If you are trance fam, then you are going to want a Trance Is For The Dreamers Tank. The back says "Take Me To Dreamland." But if you are more of a bass head then opt for a Bass Rainbow Tank that features a tie-dye bass drop. Check out more from the iEDM Music Collection HERE to find what you WUB the most.

7.  Bump Your Booty

A quality pair of booty shorts are the most comfortable to dance in especially in hot venues or hot festival days. They are stretchy and allow movement, and they show off what your mama gave ya. These Setting Sun Booty Shorts give off a tropical vibe perfect for your next rave-cation.

8. Throwback With Your Favorite Characters

This Wicked Dreams T-Shirt is perfectly paired with legs wraps giving it an adorable twist. Oversized t-shirts look cute with fun leg wear accessories like fluffies. Cubone is an adorable Pokemon, but you can find your favorite Pokemon HERE. Check out more adorable throwbacks with the iEDM 90s Kids Collection HERE

9. Wear Your Hood Up

Hoods on a trippy t-shirt makes the design stand out even more when you wear it up at a rave. High-definition threads are going to add to the environment of the rave. Wear art and be art. Check out more vibrant Hoodie T's HERE.

10. Kandi To Trade

Whenever you spy someone wearing Kandi on the street, you instantly know they are rave family. Kandi are fun to trade and represent peace, love, unity and respect (PLUR). At Insomniac events, even the police will trade Kandi with you.

As you gear up for your next rave, remember that you can be whoever you want. Check out more iEDM Rave Gear HERE for more awesome styles.
