10 Must-See Artists at Escape Psycho Circus This Halloween 2018

| August 30, 2018

Insomniac is continuing its annual Halloween tradition, Psycho Circus, at the NOS Center in San Bernardino the weekend of October 26-27.

Like previous years, Escape will feature the Asylum, an immersive labyrinth that I will not be describing because spoilers (it’s not for the faint of heart), an Oasis tent for those wanting to take a break from the crowd, and four stages.

They also have water refill stations so make sure you grab one of our hydration packs and stay hydrated! Here are some of our favorite DJs that will be performing this year.

1. Alan Walker

Alan Walker has achieved remarkable success worldwide with his latest single ”Faded”. Precisely six months after its release Walker returns with the dance pop track “Sing Me To Sleep”. The title is sweet, but the theme is far from a lullaby. Iselin Solheim tells with her dramatic vocals the story about longing for a safe place in a world in constant movement.

2. Champagne Drip

Champagne Drip, the newest musical incarnation of Los Angeles-based producer Sam Pool, was born out of a philosophy that innovation springs from inspiration. Pool had carved out a unique place for himself in the bass music community; performing under the moniker of SPL for over 10 years and releasing drum & bass, dubstep, and trap-oriented music on respected labels such as Barcode, Tech Itch, Evol Intent, Sub Human, Rottunn, and SMOG Recordings. SPL’s music was fully immersed in sound design, a musical landscape comprised of melodic, dark, and refined touches.

3. Excision

Excision. The name itself presents a terrifying image- a mangled, forced extraction, quite literally “removal by cutting”. It should come as no surprise that the sounds behind this name are just as filthy, brutal, and unforgiving as the namesake suggests. A true champion of bass music.

4. GTA

Despite GTA’s wild, unpredictable sets, everything the duo does – both on stage and in the studio – is unified by a simple mission statement: Death To Genres. The duo’s open-minded-ness is closely tied to their Miami roots, as they were exposed to urban, electronic rock and Latin sounds in equal measure. “A lot of people argue about the kind of music they listen to, what’s cool and what’s not,” Mejia explains. “But for us, it’s just about good music.”

5. Martin Garrix

In these fickle times, success stories come and go with shocking regularity. At just 20 years of age however, Martin Garrix has proven his uncanny ability to expertly navigate the competitive entertainment industry, and has established himself as a behemoth of both the electronic and pop worlds. This speaks volumes about his talent, maturity and vision.

6. Zatox

With a spectacular desire to succeed, DJ Zatox has launched a series of hits in rapid succession since the beginning of 2009. Before he started his revolution, Zatox was already responsible for a sensational series of hit records also with the alias "Wild Motherfuckers" with DJ Tatanka.

7. Galantis

At its core, GALANTIS is two friends making music together. The fact that they’re Christian Karlsson, aka Bloodshy, and Linus Eklöw, aka Style of Eye, is what changes the plot. The accomplished duo’s groundbreaking work as GALANTIS destroys current electronic dance music tropes, demonstrating that emotion and musicianship can indeed coexist with what Eklöw calls “a really, really big kind of vibe.”

8. Mercer

There is a new generation of French DJs/Producers with international fame, Mercer is one of them. Hardwell first sensed a massive record in “Welcome to the Jungle” and signed it on his label. Track produced with ALVARO featuring Lil Jon, that reached a Top 3 on Beatport and had 3 million views on YouTube. Renowned Spinnin' Records spotted the talent and released two tracks: “Supreme” and “Turn It Up”.

9. Noisia

Original, emotional, visceral. These are all words that are used to describe Noisia’s music and each is more than justified. In less than a decade the Dutch trio, renowned for their unparalleled technical skill, has gone from releasing drum & bass on now defunct independent labels to crossing multiple genres, scoring for triple A video games, having their music used on trailers for Hollywood blockbusters and producing and remixing tracks for some of the world’s biggest artists.

10. Wasted Penguinz

Hardstyle/Hard Dance duo from Sweden gracing the Southern California rave shrine that is the NOS Center.
