10 New EDM Tracks For February 2019
The only thing to keep us warm on this cold weather right now are the hottest new songs that had been released this month. As festival-goers are more than ready for festival season 2019 to start, the only thing that is keeping us thriving are the beats and lyrics of amazing songs that are being released.
We're halfway into February, but it's definitely looking bright for artists such as Tritonal, Felix Cartal, GRIZ, DNMO, Nicky Romero, and Amon Tobin along with other talented artists.
Plus favorite artists like Illenium, Kaskade, Hardwell, Alison Wonderland, and J. Worra have dropped fire new releases and started the new year off with a bang. As always if you're looking to expand your taste in music this month then check out the top ten list of new songs that iEDM has for you.
10. Hard Pass - Tritonal Ft. Ryan
The release of this hot track "Hard Pass" follows Tritonal and Kapera's collaboration "Easy," which also features Ryann on the vocals. Dance music fans can recognize Ryann's beautiful vocals from her past collaboration with the likes of The Chainsmokers, 3LAU, Yellowclaw, NERVO and more.
9. Love Me - Felix Cartal & Lights
For "Love Me" Felix Cartal has teamed up with his fellow electro-pop singer/songwriter Lights. This song starts a streak of releases of new music he had been working in the past months.
"The thing that made this collaboration so special is that we’re literally the only two people involved in this song. I wrote an instrumental, Lights wrote an initial lyric idea, we refined the chorus and arrangement together, then she tracked her vocals herself and I did all the production myself. It’s literally just us two creating every single piece of this song. A true collab. I love how it turned out." - Felix Cartal
8. Virus - Swanky Tunes
Protocol Recordings welcomes the talented trio Swanky Tunes to the family with their new release "Virus" that, like is namesake, is sure to take the dance music scene by storm. Swanky Tunes have long burgeoned the sound of electronic music in its heyday, and "Virus" delivers with a driving four-by-four bassline complete with bouncy melodies and upbeat vocals, calling to mind the irreplaceable feeling of a packed crowd dancing in unison at a festival mainstage.
7. On a Hilltop Sat the Moon - Amon Tobin
The acclaimed electronic music pioneer's first album in eight years and the inaugural release from his new label, Nomark, is out in April. The first single on this album "On a Hilltop Sat the Moon" is a haunting work. A haze of delicately rendered melodies that move like creases in time, the song takes Tobin's expertise in advanced sound design into a decidedly organic and hand made direction.
6. A New Day - GRIZ & Matisyahu
While "A New Day" is indeed an ad-hoc meeting of worlds, its sonic quality, and lyrical nature fall seamlessly into the musical styles that both artists possess. Matisyahu's uplifting lyrics and emotive melodies fly high while GRIZ's production stands strong as its core.
In GRIZ's own words, "Matisyahu’s voice speaks volumes to so many people. He has this unique ‘way' of speaking and I am infinitely humbled that we were able to link up an idea that I think is very necessary today.”
5. Sick of You - DNMO
There's a reason certain relationships are called "toxic": they bring you down, leave you reeling, and yet they're so addicting that you can't quite walk away. Well, DNMO has had enough; the 17-year-old UK artist takes a stand against a toxic relationship in his distorted teenage love song, "Sick of You." The track exemplifies DNMO's complex sound through its multi-layered approach, delivering soulful melodies entwined with organic instrumentals and a tinge of darkness throughout. DNMO teamed up with Sub Urban for the release, which is out via Zeds Dead's Deadbeats label and is the premiere track from his upcoming EP.
4. Ring The Alarm - Nicky Romero & David Guetta
Music moguls and longtime friends Nicky Romero and David Guetta teamed up for their latest collaboration "Ring the Alarm," a new festival anthem that exemplifies both producers' reputations as legendary party-starters. The track delivers vocal elements of reggaetón paired with tribal instrumentals and a deep, driving bass line that's guaranteed to get the crowd dancing.
3. This Is How We Party - R3HAB & Icona Pop
We may be well into the beginning of 2019, but R3HAB and Icona Pop want you to party like it's the '90s. The dynamic DJ and producer teamed up with the female electro-pop duo of "I Love It" fame for their new collaboration "This Is How We Party," which is out on R3HAB's CYB3RPVNKlabel. "This Is How We Party" delivers a feel-good blend of breezy instrumental melodies and catchy vocals that lead into an upbeat, groovy breakdown perfect for the dance floor.
3. Like Water - Christian Loffler Ft. Mohna
“Like Water” is chilling and spectral electronica, with Mohna’s crystallizing mellow voice taking us into the comfort of solitary metaphysical wandering. Löffler transforms the organic and serendipitous original version, performed in a traditional setting with classical instruments, into ambient electronic catharsis.
1. Treat You Better - RUFUS DU SOL (Purple Disco Machine Remix)
Purple Disco Machine brings pure disco sensibilities to the emotional ballad of ‘Treat You Better’ by way of funk-driven guitar and bass, coupled with playful synth leads and club-ready arrangement. The International producer, DJ, and remixer has been delivering his unique flavor of disco-house since the project’s inception in 2009.
