How Black Tiger Sex Machine is Clawing Their Way to the Top
Since day one, Canadian-trio Black Tiger Sex Machine has put on a one of a kind performance.
With the integration of a DJ set with live performance combined to create loops, samples, synths, drums, and other electronic elements, the Black Tigers are guaranteed to rock the house for die hard rockers and the new generation.
Marc Chagnon, Julien Maranda and Patrick Barry have become an established name in the EDM scene with their trademark black tiger helmets making appearances all over the music festival circuit for the past few years.
The three have performed at major destination festivals like TomorrowWorld, Electric Zoo, SXSW, Decadence, and Electric Forest.
The Sex Machine (The Performance)
The boys were nice enough to bring me out to their show in Denver, Colorado to check out their show. After notable performances by fellow Kannnbalen Records members Kai Wachi and Dabin who have been on the Music Is Our Religion Tour with Black Tiger since late January, BTSM stepped on stage.
Classic bangers from their Music Is Our Religion album filled the speakers, their new and improved masks illuminated as lasers touched the crowd. Head banging proceeded to add motion to the already rowdy audience.
I'm not sure if the venue was just extremely hot, or the boys just wanted to take them off, but the masks came off.
Followed by the first time I've ever seen the Black Tigers unmasked, was an unbelievable back-to-back-to-back set with Black Tiger Sex Machine, Dabin, and Kai Wachi. The five of them continued to jam for the rest of the evening; the BTSM Church was in session.
"Denver has always been one of our favorite places to play," Black Tiger Sex Machine told me after the show. "Each time we come through we try to do something special within our show to give some extra love to one of the cities that has showed us support since the beginning."
What To Look Forward To
With their Music Is Our Religion Tour just coming to an end, the group looks forward to a couple more headlining performances in the South West followed by appearances at Ever After Festival in Canada June 2nd, the second weekend of Electric Forest Music Festival, and Lollapalooza Paris in July.
