EDC Las Vegas Drops Stacked Lineup for 2017

| May 01, 2017

EDC is rapidly approaching and with the mega-festival less than a month and a half away, Insomniac has dropped the full EDC Las Vegas lineup. After months of anticipation and speculation, Insomniac curated a special half hour mix that featured songs of artists who are featured on the lineup.

Devoted fans and websites alike all interpreted the mix, but with the full release of the lineup, there is no longer any uncertainty. When it comes to Insomniac, the standard for lineups is always set high, but the twenty-first anniversary of the flagship festival promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

Insomniac welcomes back many familiar faces to kineticFIELD, circuitGROUNDS, cosmicMEADOW, neonGARDEN, bassPOD, wasteLAND, quantumVALLEY and upside-downHOUSE. Among EDC returnees are Martin Garrix, Galantis, Marshmello, Dillon Francis, Zedd, Yellowclaw, and Hardwell among many more.

In addition to the EDC veterans are some newcomers to the Vegas festival. Kygo, Mija and Rezz will be performing their first EDC sets this June, and with their unique sounds and styles, EDC promises music from every end of the EDM spectrum. Another highlight of EDC 2017 is the much-anticipated b2b set from Alison Wonderland, Diplo and Jauz. So. Much. Bass

Still a little overwhelmed by all the names? Don't worry, us too. But Insomniac broke down the lineup even further and has identified which artists will be playing at which stage.

KineticFIELD is essentially EDC's main stage and features huge names like Armin van Buuren, Dillon Francis, Marshmello, Martin Garixx and Tiesto.

KineticFIELD is one of the most popular and well-loved stages at EDC and will see a huge amount of talent on its grounds.

CircuitGROUNDS is less known for specific genres and more famous for its incredible stage design. The Grounds has LEDs, lasers, smoke machines and special effects galore. The variety of artists who will perform at the hallowed Grounds are among the best in their respective genres. Above and Beyond, Axwell ^ Ingrosso, Alesso, Flosstradamus, RL Grime and Zedd represent just a few of the many genres and styles that will be represented at CircuitGROUNDS.

QuantumVALLEY is the newest stage at EDC. QuantumVALLEY will be hosted by Dreamstate (who will also be throwing some sick EDC Week events). The Valley will feature the talents of some of the greatest house and trance legends in EDM from Gareth Emery to Cosmic Gate and Markus Schulz.

CosmicMEADOW is known for its wide expanse of grass for festivalgoers to dance on, lie on and otherwise revel in the extraordinary experience that is EDC. While the Meadow was known for attracting primarily bass house, trap and hip-hop influenced music, the lineup this year features some surprising names, among them Porter Robinson and San Holo. Artists like Major Lazer, Mija, Yellow Claw, Ghastly and Black Tiger Sex Machine nonetheless carry the heavy bass tradition of the Meadow.

NeonGARDEN is a house lover's dream. The Garden is known for its more underground vibe as compared to the other stages at EDC. While the stage itself will be indisputably incredible, Insomniac's Pasqualle Rotella stated that the stage will be raw with no bells and whistles but a pure love and focus on the music

Upside-downHOUSE was introduced in 2016 and provided up and coming talent the rare opportunity to play alongside the big names. For the 2017 show, Upside-downHOUSE will be open all weekend, as opposed to its one-day stint in 2016.

BassPOD will feature (surprise, surprise) bass music. Headbangers will unite at the newly fireproofed stage (part of the stage caught on fire last year) and now everyone can go hard without fear of burning out. BassPOD is one of the most beloved stages at EDC and gracing the legendary stage are bass heavy hitters like Datsik, Flux Pavilion, Skism, Snails and Zomboy.

While Insomniac has not released the set times yet (with the huge amount of talent at EDC, we're hoping that set conflicts won't be too bad), the initial lineup is enough to make our heads spin.

Don't forget to check out the absolutely stacked EDC Week, the party doesn't last for only the weekend. Until Insomniac releases the specific set times, we still have time before EDC.
