Electric Zoo Drops Phase 1 Lineup

| April 14, 2017

Electric Zoo is one of New York’s premiere music festivals. During Labor Day weekend, E-Zoo shakes Randall’s Island in uptown Manhattan with heavy bass, big room house, melodic trance and everything in between. Electric Zoo has become one of the EDM staples of the City That Never Sleeps and every year, Zoo has curated lineups with some of the biggest names in the electronic industry.

Electric Zoo first rocked the Big Apple in 2009 and has had phenomenal years ever since, culminating with 2016’s stacked lineup and biggest turnout ever. Now gearing up for its ninth year running, Electric Zoo has already set the bar pretty high for itself. Last year, the lineup was absolutely stacked, featuring the talents of Bassnectar, Carnage, Tiesto, Porter Robinson, The Chainsmokers, Hardwell, Gareth Emery, NGHTMRE, Blasterjaxx, Illenium and more.

Last year’s Electric Zoo was a wild weekend indeed, and this year the Zoo is introducing itself as the 6th Boro and has dropped an impressive phase one lineup. Headliner acts include DJ Snake, Above and Beyond and a back to back set with Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz. As if this weren’t enough, E-Zoo announced the following artists as part of their phase one lineup: Alan Walker, Audien, Don Diablo, Drezo, Excision, Markus Schulz, Martin Solveig, NGHTMRE, Oliver Heldens, Seven Lions, Slander, Tchami, Tritonal, Yellow Claw and more.

Whew.

Keep in mind that this represents only phase one of the lineups. Dedicated Redditors have begun to decipher the blurred-out names and have generated speculated additions to the lineup. Many Redditors agree that the second headliner on Saturday could potentially be Zedd. Other speculated additions to the already stacked E-Zoo lineup include Rezz, Ghastly, Illenium, Slushii, Diplo, Dada Life, Armin van Buuren and Jauz. You can read the full Reddit speculations here.

No matter who is in the phase two lineup, one thing is clear: Electric Zoo will shake New York City this coming Labor Day. I’m already looking forward to attending Electric Zoo for the second time, and I have nothing but high hopes for the wild animals roaming around Manhattan. Interested?
