[FESTIVAL REVIEW] EDC Orlando 2023: A Sonic And Visual Spectacle To Remember

EDC

| November 17, 2023

This year at EDC Orlando, Insomniac brought in tremendously talented artists, colorful lights that could be seen from miles away, and endless amounts of mesmerizing art installations to be seen across the festival! Everything was brought together seamlessly to create an enjoyable and loving environment.

Throughout experiencing countless years of EDC, they always seem to grow in popularity. The turnout this year was amazing and full of more loving faces to experience such an unforgettable and unbelievable weekend.

ecoKicking things off on Friday, the lineup was stacked with some must-see artists, such as Jamie Jones who supplied the house vibes to keep you moving all night. Dirt Monkey b2b Subdocta delivered the bass to circuitGROUNDS, along with Subtronics to close the night out.

There were countless acts to see as I took the time to venture around to different stages to witness new talented artists. The one thing that helped me have a great experience was the layout EDCO had this year. It brought more space to relax and take in the beauty of the beautiful sculptures and even wander off into a new stage.

On Day 1, I spent my last 30 minutes experiencing some hard-hitting techno by Sam WOLFE at the rynobusARTCAR. He was a fantastic way to wrap up my first night.

ecoWhile Friday was amazing, Saturday was the day to be a Tinker Field. The sun was blazing with beats bumping, it was a sonic and visual paradise, to say the least. I started off my night with the incredible duo Malaa b2b Wax Motif. This was a thrillingly and electrifying set that had me shuffling through the entire set.

The night was still young and continued to thrive with acts flowing on all stages. kineticFIELD had the likes of Ship Wrek, Zedd, and Armin Van Buuren. neonGARDEN hosted Ben Sterling, BLOND:ISH b2b Dennis Cruz, Dom Dolla, the list goes on. It was safe to say that Saturday was stacked with endless phenomenal acts.

ecoComing in a little cloudy on Sunday, it did not stop the heat from radiating off the gifted acts and their performances. kineticFIELD brought in KREAM, FISHER, and The Chainsmokers closed out with their hypnotic and uplifting beats.

NeonGARDEN gave way to Eats Everything, Eli Brown, Gorgon City, and FISHER. If you missed FISHER at Kinetic, he played two different times with two different sounding sets that were jaw-dropping and left me absolutely speechless.

What an amazing time to be alive, although the beloved John Summit was not at EDC Orlando his songs like “Where You Are” were heard endlessly throughout which had me questioning if he was there. Hopefully, he will be returning to EDC Orlando in the near future

ecoEDC Orlando 2023 was a remarkable experience with the time, effort, and inspiration being clearly showcased throughout the entire 3-day event. From the costumed performers to talented acts, and to the whole Insomniac team, your ability to bring us together every single year with such open arms and in a judgment-free zone is widely appreciated. And hope to see even more beautiful faces next year!
