[LISTEN] Cyclops and ATLiens Turn Humor Into Heavy Dubstep on 'DIS FUNCTION'

Cyclops and ATLiens have reunited for “DIS FUNCTION,” a new dubstep collaboration that turns an absurd internet punchline into one of the more recognizable bass records to circulate through festival sets this summer.

First previewed in July and later played at stops including Das Energi Festival and Echostage, the track quickly found an audience around its unmistakable pre-drop vocal: “Call me erectile… the way I’m... at dis function.” The line spread across social media well before release, becoming a recurring fan “vocal stim” and giving the track an identity before many listeners even knew its title.

That playful setup leads into a much heavier payoff. “DIS FUNCTION” drops into grimy low-end, warped wubs, and strange sample work, leaning into the off-kilter humor that both Cyclops and ATLiens have made part of their respective approaches to dubstep.

Cyclops says the idea came directly from a TikTok clip.

“There are two things ATLiens and I both really like: memes and weird dubstep, so making a song that combines both was right up our alley,” he explains. “I started the track after seeing a TikTok with the line, ‘Call me erectile, the way I’m at dis function,’ and thought it would work perfectly as the vocal for a song.”

The collaboration came together quickly after Cyclops sent the idea to ATLiens, but its release took on greater anticipation after months of live testing. According to Cyclops, the response from fans helped make the record feel especially rewarding to finally put out.

“DIS FUNCTION” also marks the pair’s second collaboration, extending a creative connection rooted in their shared taste for strange sound design and equally strange humor.

For Cyclops, the release lands in the middle of a packed 2026. He recently appeared at Lost Lands’ Crater Stage and released “Final Bonk” with TYNAN, while earlier collaborations this year have included “WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DUBSTEP” with BARELY ALIVE, “Computah” with NGHTMRE, and “Jazz Cabbage” with Wooli.

Rather than separating personality from production, “DIS FUNCTION” thrives on the collision of both, turning a meme-ready vocal into a track already proven to work in front of bass crowds.
