[LISTEN] Rafasan Returns to His Roots With ‘Back 2 House’
Atlanta-based DJ and producer Rafasan has returned to his house roots with “Back 2 House,” a groove-driven new single released through his Flying Lap imprint.
Built around rolling basslines, stripped-back textures, and an emphasis on movement, the track reflects a full-circle moment for a producer who first began making progressive house roughly a decade ago before exploring different corners of electronic music.
“I started producing progressive house in the beginning, but have made all sorts of electronic music over the years,” Rafasan explains. “Recently, I’ve found myself in a full-circle moment as I’ve come back to house for the first time in a while.”
That return is closely connected to the way Rafasan approaches DJing. Performing more than 100 shows annually and holding multiple club residencies, his sets move between deeper cuts, minimal grooves, and higher-energy moments depending on the room.
“I’ve always prioritized energy and the crowd reaction in my DJ sets, so that influences a lot of what I make,” he says. “At the end of the day, I make what inspires me and what I think will move the dance floor.”
A Berklee College of Music-trained producer and founder of Flying Lap Records, Rafasan has accumulated more than three million streams while building his catalog through originals, edits, and years behind the decks.
His crowd-first mindset remains central to where he wants the project to go next.

“I do what I do in service to the crowd,” Rafasan adds. “I love being in a position where I can share underground music, give the audience something they haven’t heard before, and ultimately, show them the best night possible.”
With more music already in the works and festival appearances teased for the spring, “Back 2 House” offers a clear snapshot of where Rafasan is heading next: back toward the sound that started it all, now filtered through a decade of experience behind the decks.
