[LISTEN] Daily Bread Expands His Universe on New Album 'Vanishing Point'

Daily Bread has spent more than a decade building a sound that sits comfortably between scenes without belonging entirely to any of them.

On his new 13-track studio album Vanishing Point, the Atlanta producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist pushes that identity further, threading vintage soul, hip-hop, glitch-hop, and heavyweight bass production into one of his most expansive projects to date.

The record is driven as much by atmosphere and memory as it is by low-end. Samples, live-feeling textures, spoken-word passages, rap performances, and intricate electronic production continually shift the album’s perspective, moving between warmth and nostalgia, uncertainty and heavier festival energy.

Daily Bread describes the idea behind the album as a journey toward something permanently out of reach.

“There’s a point on the horizon you can see but never quite reach. No matter how fast you drive it keeps moving down the road. That place is the vanishing point. This album is about the chase. It is about the memories behind us, the unknown ahead, and all the moments we collect along the way.”

That concept begins taking shape immediately on “Repeat Message,” where eclectic vocal samples, funk-inspired instrumentation, and spacey bass textures establish an almost cinematic introduction.

Previously released “Soaring In The Sky” follows before the record moves through “Brown Mountain Lights” and “Til The Sun Burns Out.”

“Working The Plan” offers one of the clearest examples of Daily Bread’s genre fluidity, pairing rapper Jonah Cruzz with a production that draws from hip-hop and groovy bass music without allowing either side to dominate.

he collaborative thread continues through “Strange Love” with Kyle Lucas and STS, “Beautiful But Dangerous” with STS, and “Breathwork,” where Obeah’s hypnotic delivery rides across crisp percussion and an understated groove.

Other moments deliberately pull the album in contrasting directions. “Lonely Dreams” reshapes a vintage sample reminiscent of the 1970s through contemporary bass production, while “Waves At Sunset” provides an airy, vocal-led change of pace.

Daily Bread closes the journey alongside Late Night Radio on “A Long Time,” trading some of that weightlessness for grimy bass, pitched vocals, and an arrangement built to hit significantly harder in a live environment.

The Atlanta connection running through the album is equally important. By bringing Jonah Cruzz, Kyle Lucas, STS, and Obeah directly into the project, Whatley moves hip-hop from an underlying influence into an active part of the record’s storytelling.
