Excision’s prehistoric-themed Lost Lands Festival 2022 returns to Legend Valley, Ohio this fall for dubstep-lovers and bassheads to rejoice! The festival itself will take place from September 23-25. Purchase your tickets now before it's too late to experience the land of bass!
Often regarded by the bass-fanatics as “Dubstep Disneyland”, Lost Lands 2022 has delivered another lineup stacked with dozens of beloved bass music acts. Some fan-favorites include Illenium, Svdden Death, Subtronics, G Jones, Virtual Riot, Wooli, Marauda, Black Tiger Sex Machine, ATLiens, Space Laces, and three sets by Excision. In addition, Excision’s recurring B2B set will be beside rockstar and DJ, Sullivan King.
Many revered dubstep trailblazers are also attending the event such as Rusko, Pendulum, Keys ‘n’ Krates, Knife Party, and Kill the Noise which is a special nod to the origins of the genre. Although the bulk of the lineup features bass artists of subgenres dubstep, melodic, riddim, midtempo, and space bass, a wider range of dance music will be present than previously seen. Some performers lean more towards DnB, trap, house, and hardstyle. Several examples include Troyboi, Swarm, Apashe, Madeon, Lil Texas, Reaper, Nitepunk, GRAVEDGR, Imanu, Lektrique, Stumpi (Wooli house set), Habstrakt, and Hekler.
Since the target audience for Lost Lands is dedicated dubstep fans, there are many niche, upcoming, and international artists that are extremely exciting to experience. International talent includes Leotrix, Papa Khan, WODD, Hekler, Infekt, and more. Many currently exploding artists looking to make their mark on the scene are guaranteed to showcase their best work to date. Some names to look out for are Versa, Emorfik, Zingara, BLURRD VZN, Papa Khan, Muerte, Point.Blank, LYNY, BLVK SHEEP, Shanghai Doom, Dubscribe, LOUIEJAYXX, Ruvlo, Perry Wayne, Tape B, One True God, and LAYZ.
Last but not least, Lost Lands 2022 features a much larger ratio of female artists than commonly seen in festival lineups. Women projected to level the grounds of Legend Valley include Rezz, Jessica Audiffred, LEVEL UP, Zingara, Vampa, LAYZ, A Hundred Drums, Maddy O’Neal, Sippy, JVZMIN, and Green Matter. Excision’s masterful planning of lineups is partially attributed to the annual Lost Lands poll, in which fans vote for talent they would like to see featured at the festival. Based upon the reaction to the 2022 collection of artists, this method of receiving fan feedback and input is extremely effective.
This lineup is an incredible showcase of modern bass music, and could not have turned out much better. Lost Lands continues to live up to the community’s high expectations year after year, and will remain an unforgettable event in the dance music scene. Those who cannot attend this year will likely have the opportunity to watch many sets from home on the “Couchlands” livestream, which has occurred every year thus far. Details for this have not been announced yet (as of July 2022).
Attendees have the option of arriving to camp Tuesday evening, Wednesday, or Thursday with an additional early-entry fee. The early entry features the well-loved pre-party on Thursday night and many popup sets throughout the weekend. As always, there is a variety of camping options with differing levels of comfort, as well as many location choices including a designated quiet camp for those who prioritize sleep. Those who do not plan on camping are able to book hotels and Dino Express Shuttle passes to facilitate travel to and from the festival, which can be found HERE. Long-haul shuttles are also available from several large cities in the Northeastern USA to Lost Lands. These options allow for more flexibility for the thousands of fans that will be traveling to the event.
Many notable improvements will be made to the camping and festival grounds with the intention of facilitating the experience. Some of these changes include new camping roads and repaired entryways, the return of close car camping, improved quiet camping, Tuesday early entry, expanded and refined VIP areas, and a new “Village Marketplace” stage with sets beginning Wednesday evening. The Lost Lands team continues to prioritize feedback, and consistently makes improvements that aim to resolve issues from previous years. The massive effort from the organizers to satisfy all attendees reflects the quality, capacity, and diligence of this staff. Aside from the fantastic lineup, the staff and community is what makes this event so special and worthy of trust to create an unforgettable experience. Due to its location, attending Lost Lands requires a more-than-average amount of planning for the majority of festival goers, but the event is easily worthy of the time and effort required to make it happen.
