Luca Schreiner Talks About Experiences As An Up & Coming Artist In iEDM Interview

| November 12, 2018

German House artist Luca Schreiner has been emerging into the spotlight as he recently signed on with Ultra Music and is currently playing huge events and clubs such as World Club Dome and Marquee New York.

He plays with styles merging classic deep house, tropical influence and elements of progressive house. iEDM had the chance to interview the 23 year-old artist.

iEDM: What was your earliest musical memory?

LS: I remember always sitting in the car with my dad and my sister and listening to some classic RnB music, as this is my dad’s favorite kind of genre - Great times!

iEDM: Is there anything you can share about the recent music you are working on?

LS: Yes, so my new single which is already confirmed will come out on my home label "Ultra Records“. However I can’t give out any more release info yet…

iEDM: As a younger creative in the music industry, what advice do you have for up and coming artists?

LS: I think trying out different kind of genres is a great advice. I always used to try out different kinds of styes and then combined the elements of different genres together to create something new. Also from a producer perspective you learn a lot by just  trying out different styles and genres, as every genre has its own ways of mixing instruments up.

iEDM: What’s the hardest part of working in the music industry?

LS: I think nowadays it’s super hard to come up with something that hasn’t been done before. Due to the fact that producing music has become easier and more importantly a lot cheaper, more and more people create and produce stuff. That being said it’s hard to catch people’s attention nowadays because there’s just so much new musical output every day!

iEDM: What are some of your hobbies outside of music?

LS: I just love spending time with my girlfriend, friends, my family and my dog. I think it’s super important to have people around you that always support you in what you do and I’m happy that I’m surrounded by so many.

iEDM: Do you have a particular process when sifting through sounds to use in your music?

LS: Yes, there’s this platform which every producer should know about, which is called "Splice“. It’s a platform where you get easily inspired, as you can just go through different libraries of sounds and loops and even filter by genres.

iEDM: What kind of music are you currently listening to?

LS: I listen to a lot of radio music. I think the great thing about radio music is that it somehow always has a commercial touch to it, which makes it super accessible for a lot of people.

iEDM: We have been so lucky to live in a time where so much music is easily accessible. How do you feel that this has evolved the modern day musician?

LS: As I said, producing music has become easier and much cheaper than years ago. On one side it’s great for music lovers, since there’s so much new music that comes out every week. But on the other side I feel like the value of music itself gets a bit lost, since people lose attention quite fast to tracks.

iEDM: Anything else you would like to share with those reading this interview?

LS: First of all, thanks so much for having me! I can’t wait for all of you guys to hear all the new music that is coming up, especially my brand new original single and all the remixes I worked on the past few weeks!
