What Our Festival Bras Are Made Of: Fabric, Lining and Print

Our bras are polyester, printed all over, then cut and sewn in the USA. Some add spandex for stretch, like our Midnight Garden bra. Its blend is 73% polyester and 27% spandex, with a microfiber front lining.

That spandex is the stretchy part, so the top moves with you when you jump and twist. Behind the print in front, the microfiber lining adds a second layer of fabric.

Every design goes on with sublimation printing, which uses heat to dye the print into the fabric itself. Each panel is printed before sewing, so the design runs right up to the seams, front and back. Since the ink becomes part of the fabric, the print resists fading and will not crack or peel.

How to Choose and Wear a Rave Bra: 6 Simple Steps

Start with the style of top, then the size, because those two choices decide how it feels all night.

1. Decide Between a Bra and a Crop Top

Go with a bra for hot days and hard dancing, since it covers less and hugs your body. Choose a crop top if you want more coverage, plan to layer, or need a size above XL.

2. Find Your Size on Our Sports Bra Chart

Most tips on how to measure for a sports bra start with your body. The Sports Bra chart on our size charts page measures the garment laid flat instead. So lay a sports bra that fits you well flat, then measure straight across under the arms.

If your width lands between two sizes, the smaller one sits tighter and holds more. The larger one gives more room across the ribs.

3. Pick a Print That Glows Under Blacklight

Lots of night stages use blacklights, and some prints light up under them while others fade into the dark. Bright fluorescent colors and white react the most, so neon prints pop more than dark ones.

5. Do the Fit Test the Day It Arrives

Try it on as soon as it arrives, with the shorts or leggings you plan to wear. Then run through these quick checks:

• Raise both arms over your head and make sure the band stays flat.
• Look at the straps, which should sit flat on your shoulders without digging in.
• Jump, twist and shuffle for a minute to see that nothing slips.
• Check the sides and under the band for any spilling.
• Take a full, deep breath and make sure the band does not pinch.

If something feels off, you have 30 days from delivery to exchange it. A new size is made to order too, so testing early gets the swap started sooner.

6. Protect Your Bare Skin From Sun and Heat

A festival bra top leaves your shoulders, back and stomach out in the sun for hours. Cover all of that skin with broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen, SPF 30 or higher.

Put it on about 15 minutes before you go in. Reapply every two hours and again right after heavy sweating.

Hours of dancing in the heat can also make you sick. Watch for signs of heat exhaustion like heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea and cool, clammy skin.

If they start, move somewhere cooler and sip water. Head to the medical tent if you throw up or still feel sick after an hour.

How to Wash a Sports Bra After a Festival

Wash it soon after you get home, so sweat and sunscreen do not sit in the fabric for days. Then follow the care steps from our product pages:

• Turn it inside out before washing.
• Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.
• Wash it in a small load, never a full one.
• Keep it away from items with a lot of lint or rough fabric.
• Hang it to dry.

Skip the dryer because heat wears out stretch fabric, and a stretched-out top will not stay snug.
