The EDM Community Prepares For Billboard Hot 100 Festival
There is little doubt that electronic dance music has crossed over into the mainstream. As the music genre continues to break new ground, Billboard is recognizing some of the biggest names in the EDM industry at this year's Billboard Hot 100 Festival.
Taking place in Wantagh, New York on August 18 and 19, the festival is presenting names like DJ Snake, Krewella, Phantoms, and NGHTMRE to a diverse audience who is ready to gobble up their biggest hits. Fans can go into the two-day festival knowing they are going to work up a serious sweat. Billboard wouldn't have it any other way.
This isn't the first time Billboard is showcasing the EDM community. Zedd made waves with a performance of a lifetime last year with his major crossover hits, "Beautiful Now" and "Stay."
No matter what weather comes New York's way, festival fans are expected to gear up and look ultra hip to impress the artists they love to listen to. One of the headliners, Halsey, solidified her name as a megastar with The Chainsmokers festival anthem, "Closer." The 23-year-old sensation will draw a massive crowd on Saturday, so prepare to grab a spot near the stage bright and early. Fan favorite Rozes will also bring her cool style and vocals to the stage. Known to provide killer chorus hooks for Nicky Romero and the previously mentioned Chainsmokers, the singer will bring a serious case of swagger on Sunday.
If that wasn't enough to get music fans hyped for the upcoming weekend, word on the street is that TOKiMONSTA and the production company Strangeloop Studios are ready to create an out-of-this-world set, getting inspiration from Nissan Intelligent Mobility.
Christmas comes early for EDM fans starting tomorrow. You have been warned in advance.
