Yellow Claw Talks On Barong Family: Hard In Bangkok! [INTERVIEW]

Yellow Claw, one of the most influential artists since the beginning of the dance trap area in the states, has been shooting full throttle to die hard fans with their incredible compilation, Hard In Bangkok. The Dutch duo has given iEDM the inside scope on their album that is a complete work of art by 14 artists on the Barong crew (Yellow Claw's imprint). This compilation is a an audible depiction of friendships, the exchange of creative ideas, and a result of a production camp that is now, Hard In Bangkok. This collection of tracks displays the hottest productions from the Barong Family. It's edgy, fast, and grants so much versatility! iEDM had the opportunity to chat with the kings of Amsterdam to go into more depth about this work of art.

IEDM: How did the Hard In Bangkok album come and what were some major influences that inspired particular collaborations/features on the album?

Yellow Claw: A fine selection of the harder genre Barong Family artist came together for a week of non stop studio and fun. Biggest influence were all these different artists, all bringin their own flavor and the crazy good vibes that were just there all week.

IEDM: What are some highlights of newer artists that we should look out for on the album?

Yellow Claw: Man thats gonna be hard, but just upcoming stars as Rayray and Rawtek really showing their diversity but also a man like Lil Texas bringin and championing his whole own sound. A guy like dither really goin in these sessions with guys like Juyen Sebulba totally open minded, what happens then is just insane.

iEDM: Which song on the album is most special to you and why?

Yellow Claw: Personally maybe LET THERE BE BASS. Like i said, Dither is legend in his own lane and genre so when he opens up those skills to other artists and genres their is so much potential. A YC and Dither collab had been in the air for almost two years but we could never really find the right moment or tune but the night we went in to work on this it just all came together real easy.

iEDM: Is this album similar or different from your album? What should we expect here?

Yellow Claw: This is strictly hard stuff. Straight from creative sessions, no overthinking, just goin in.

iEDM: Any upcoming news from the Barong family label for 2020?

Yellow Claw: Yeah we need to make another album like this cause we miss all these dolls already. And further global bass domination of course but what else is new.
