10 Must See Artists At Shaky Beats 2019

| April 12, 2019

Some might say Shaky Beats is still in an experimental era. With the festival being so young, changes are happening yearly. Now that Shaky Beats is in its fourth year it has moved to Central Park, downsized from three to two days, and more importantly tweaked the style of performing artists this year.

In addition to its original heavy bass and hip hop influenced sounds, Shaky Beats has added more instrumental acts, house, and electronica music to the 2019 lineup.

Here’s a quick glance at some of our top 10 picks on the Shaky Beats 2019 lineup!

10. Galantis

The few times I’ve seen Galantis has been nothing short of positive, colorful, and amazing. If you’ve watched any of their videos, you will notice their music coincides perfectly. Their live performances parallel the vibes of their music and videos. Barring schedule conflicts, make sure to drop in on their set.

9. CloZee

I was introduced to the sound of this French babe at Electric Forest after they moved her set to the Sherwood Forest stage. The move to a bigger stage was a statement in itself. Her smooth melodic sound intertwines percussion and oriental vibes, with a dash of futuristic noises. CloZee is one of few female artists on the lineup and I guarantee her set is worth experiencing.

8. Big Wild

Literally a one man band, Big Wild has become a fan favorite producing a unique style. I say unique because of his ability to play multiple instuments while mixing and even adding his own vocals. From Red Rocks to Mexico, Big Wild is producing music to make you move your feet. Check out his latest EP Superdream here!

7. Fisher

Although the artist has been active for years, Fisher has come on the scene heavily over the last year or so. His music is helping people get acquainted with House vibes. He is approaching headliner status with his name creeping closer to the tops of festival lineups. He was even nominated for a Grammy this year! If you’re not too careful, you might find yourself “Losing It” at Shaky Beats!

6. CRAY

CRAY is another female DJ on the Shaky Beats lineup this year. The artist and gamer has seen some major festivals in her young career. Her electronic pop sound is surely music that can touch the crowd with her tunes. She is a female artist to look for this festival season. Give her a chance at Shaky Beats!

5. The Funk Hunters

The Funk Hunters are a Canadian duo we can't get enough of! Their funky basslines and good vibes are so fun to dance to! If you have't seen them live, do not miss the opportunity!

4. What So Not

What So Not is one artist on the lineup I would put on the heavier end of the Shaky Beats spectrum. Many of his beats are uptempo and might even have the occasional bass drop. Although some of his more popular songs are remixes, don’t sleep on the man’s original music.

3. Big Gigantic

Big Gigantic shows are always an amazing time! Doesn’t matter if it’s Okeechobee, Park City Live, The Tabernacle, or Georgia Theater, Dominic and Jeremy always show up to wow the crowd. It’s been a few years since their album, Brighter Future, but words from Dom about the title and life itself are still moving to read today. Must see set for sure!

2. Chris Lake

Chris Lake is a house music name that has blown up in the last few years and it's been well deserved. This creative producer has dropped club banger after banger from "Turn Off The Lights" to his collab project with Chris Lorenzo, Anti Up's hit song "Pizza."

1. Rüfüs Du Sol

The Australian band plays live sets as well as DJ sets. I’ve been fortunate to see both Rüfüs Du Sol versions in numerous settings; Hangout on the beach, Electric Forest, and VooDoo for my birthday! Listening to their music might put you in a great mood. If you want to feel awesome and appreciated, attend their set at Shaky Beats!
