5 Things We're Thankful For This Thanksgiving: iEDM Edition
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we're feeling pretty hyped. With one of our universally beloved holidays comes awesome feasts, Black Friday deals and taking a break from adulting to come together with our family and friends to show love and give thanks.
After we take a breather from eating an endless amount of noms and chowing down on some turkey and cranberry sauce, we should all take a moment to reflect on our lives and appreciate what we have. We're thankful for the food we eat, the home we live in, the people we surround ourselves with, the clothes we wear, the opportunities that life throws our way and so much more.
So we've decided to compile a list of the iEDM edition of the things that us fellow dance music lovers feel blessed for. But before I dive into this list, I just wanna speak to each and every one of you readers out there because we at iEDM are extremely thankful for you guys- for sticking with us, enjoying the content we put up and for finding us entertaining.
We wouldn't be here with you all, keep on reading and much love- now putting the cheesy stuff aside, let's get on with this list, shall we?
1) Festival Season
We all long for the days where we would frolic in the sun with our best pals and let our favorite beats consume our soul, and we all wish we could live in a festival for the rest of our lives. Sadly, life does not work that way:
However, that's even more of an reason to cherish every single moment of festival season when it rolls around again and to not take any moment for granted. Get off of your phone during a set, stop taking an obscene amount of pictures and videos, surround yourself with positive vibes and good people, watch out for and protect each other and most importantly- dance. Immerse yourself in that very moment, and make it everlasting in your memories at least.
2) iEDM Merch
I mean, who else could be responsible for dressing you in some insanely awesome threads all year round? Not to toot our own horn here people, but weeee areeee!
Whether it's light-up fur, some glow toys from the glow factory, dope christmas sweaters or graphic tees, we have something to cater every person, every season and every occasion. And we help prevent you from having to run around in your birthday suit, so that's definitely something to be thankful for as well.
3) Each Other
You, yeah you! I'm talking to you, and I just wanna tell you that I'm thankful for you. We are all surrounded by so many incredible people- our family, friends and even strangers. Take some time to tell everyone in your life that you love and appreciate them, and always be sure to give love because you shall receive.
At festivals, I have had the privilege of meeting some of the kindest souls alive. It's moments like when you lose something at a show and everyone stops what they're doing to help you look for it, or moments like when you're dehydrated and a random stranger gives you water, that make us so grateful for one another even if we don't necessarily know each other.
4) SoundCloud, Spotify & Other Music Streaming Services
Without them, how would we possibly be able to listen to our tunes?! Next time you open that SoundCloud or Spotify app on your phone at the beginning of your day, it's a nice thing to sit and realize that without these services and the people who operate them, that we would not be able to listen to the music we want to listen to.
These music streaming services also help us discover our next favorite artists, and open up our eyes to a whole new world of music. There's nothing quite like those nights of sitting hours deep into the depths of SoundCloud and finding one musical gem after another after another- that's the beautiful thing about these services; they allow us to expand upon and break down our musical barriers.
5) Social Media Platforms
Although the overuse of social media has had it's obvious downsides though the years, we should take some time to be thankful for and appreciate all the positives that came with it.
Because of sites like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Periscope and Snapchat, we are able to connect and communicate with our favorite artists and stay in the loop on their lives. And it's not just a one-way street; artists are able to interact with their fans too, and there have been so many stories of artists performing incredible acts of kindness for their fans and helping them by either giving them admission to their show when they couldn't afford ticket prices or even letting their fans vent to them.
