Electric Forest Drops Curated Events Featuring Desert Hearts, mau5trap & more

| February 27, 2018

Electric Forest is our favorite festival and year after year, it still tops the list of festivals that never get old. There is always more to see and more to explore in the magic of the Sherwood Forest. Produced by the powerhouse joint forces of Madison House and Insomniac, this event is over the top in the best ways possible.

The lineup is best in the electronic spectrum every year, combined with our favorite bands, hip-hop stars, along with funk and jazz, bending genres for a weekend of dancing.

Beyond the massive main stage action, EFF offers other intimate smaller stages. Some deep in the Forest surrounded by interactive art, some in tents with awe-inspiring light shows and some renegade in the campground.

Every year, they have several groups host stage takeovers. Reminiscing on some of our past-year favorites, the first that come to mind are Dirtybird Players and All Good Records.

This year some new faces will be taking over the Forest Stages with some bass, some hip-hop and lots of house music.

Here are the curated events at Electric Forest 2018:

Weekend 1:

BASSRUSH

BASSRUSH is a spin-off brand of Insomniac focused on everything bass. This evolving brand has curated epic bass events since the 2000s. Expect a DnB takeover Friday, June 22nd at the Tripolee Stage with Cookie Monsta, Jauz, Kayzo, Herobust and more.

Green Velvet Presents LaLa Land

On Thursday, June 21, Green Velvet promises the sickest house and techno sounds in the world from himself, CamelPhat b2b Detlef, Nicole Moudaber and more.

 Mr. Carmack Presents Forward Thinkers

Spag Heddy is a new name on the Forest lineup who we love and Clozee is one of our favorite bass babes.

Desert Hearts

“Starting as an intimate gathering in the Mojave Desert, and transcending into a global movement, Desert Hearts has built a legacy of love, dance, and togetherness."

Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds and the gang will be taking over the Forest Stage on Saturday, June 30 for a techno party in the woods surrounded by lots of love on the dance floor.

Rufus Du Sol and Friends

At Rufus Du Sol's first Electric Forest, he played a late night secret set in the Forest. This year, after his usual set, Rufus will be bringing out other Australian artists and will be officially taking over the Forest Stage for an epic dance party with Hayden James, Cassian and more.

mau5trap Curated Event

Deadmau5's mau5trap releases some of the greatest music in the electronic scene to date. Saturday, June 30 at the Tripolee Stage, Deadmau5 be there as his techno project TESTPILOT along with friends like Chris Lake, BlackGummy, and Claptone.

Soulection

Soulection will be live at the Forest Stage bringing those sexy sounds for a Sunday chill session deep in the woods. The Soulection project began as a college radio project and transformed into a culture and label. Now Soulection has over 300 episodes and continues to bring that chill vibe we love.

Both weekends feature heavy hitters and some of our current favorite names in the game. Now the hard part is deciding which weekend to attend.
