Choosing what to wear to a festival can end up effecting your entire festival experience. You want to be comfortable both to dance around for hours on end and also to accommodate whatever the weather is like.

Electric Zoo takes place on Randall’s Island in New York City. This summer, the weather has been anything but ordinary, so when deciding what to wear you have make sure you’re ready for anything. One minute you’ll be dying from the humidity and the next minute it will start pouring.

While EZOO has a past reputation for being cancelled due the rain, expect the worst and hope for the best. To make sure you’re prepared for whatever weather NYC decides to throw at us, here’s a list of what to wear to EZOO 2016.

Sweatshirt:

First things first is to make sure to pack a sweatshirt. Regardless how hot it is during the day once that sun goes down, the temperature will drastically drop.

This isn’t Vegas or Miami, when the sun goes away, so does the warmth. Not to mention, chances are you’re walking to and from the festival or taking the subway.

The city can be dangerous, if you don’t know where you are, so we’d recommend covering up while taking the subway at night or wandering the streets.

Backpack or Fanny Pack:

Backpacks are super underrated as a fashion accessory. They carry all of your things and you barely have to pay any attention to it. If you prefer to only carry stuff around your waist, then opt for a fanny pack.

And the party never has to stop because our jammypacks have an aux hookup so you can blast your favorite tracks to and from the festival.

Toss in a water bottle, cell phone, and wallet and go wander the festival grounds. This is the perfect place to store your sweatshirt so you won’t feel like you’re forced to carry it around all day. Honestly, you’ll probably forget you’re even carrying things around with you, but will be really grateful for it later.

Kandi:

Whether this is your first festival or not you’re bound to see loads of kandi kids around the festival grounds. While some people may think kandi is on the decline in popularity, but people are definitely still all about it.

It’s a great way to stop and tell someone there dance moves are awesome or that you like their outfit. It may not be your particular cup of tea, but it’s still part of our community and there is no negativity that surrounds it. Even if this isn’t your first rodeo and you no longer choose to wear kandi, there’s a good chance you’ll walk out wearing some.

Kandi is a fun way to express yourself and add to your outfit. Add a Pikachu kandi mask to your yellow outfit and your rave swagger just went up 10 fun points.

Be Original:

At a festival like EZOO you’re bound to make friends relatively easily. Good vibes and good music in New York will always attract a pretty solid crowd. If you’re flying solo or with a group of friends, it’s always good to have at least one statement piece on.

Being unique and an individual is encouraged at a festival like EZOO and will be an easy way to attract people. Choose a graphic tank top or rock something glowing in a unique way.

Go dressed as a banana or put on that T-Rex costume you only got to wear on Halloween once. This is your time to let loose and shine!
