[INTERVIEW] EDSea Exclusive: 5 Artists Talk 'This or That' For On-Board Activities

Starting this Saturday, from November 4th to 8th, the highly anticipated getaway excursion of EDSea will embark on its inaugural sailing. Leaving from Miami, and stopping at the beautiful islands of Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, this cruise will be a nonstop dance music-fueled adventure for its attendees.

In typical fashion, Insomniac's EDSea will encompass a wide array of thrilling activities, perks like 'all you can drink' and unlimited Wi-Fi, and other experience-heightening components.

We had the chance to chat with five of the most renowned artists on this year's lineup, from heavy dubstep to groovy disco house. The likes of Dombresky, Ferry Corsten, Ray Volpe, Riot Ten, and Valentino Khan each shared their cruise preferences with us.

Dombresky

• Sunrise at Sea vs. Sunset at Sea – Sunrise! I have had less opportunities to play sunrise sets in the past. When I've played a sunrise set, I really enjoy the feeling of the sun rebooting everyone's energy. Even though the night is done, the vibe shoots back up. That feeling is priceless!

• Digital Detox (No Wi-Fi) vs. Unlimited Wi-Fi On Board – Unfortunately, I won't be on holiday during EDSea, which means I'll still be working. It will be good to share what is happening, and show to the people who don't have the opportunity to go to EDSea the experience through social media. Plus, I am always downloading music, so I need Wi-Fi.

• Ravercise vs. Ecstatic Dance Yoga Edition – Ravercise till we pass out. Dancing all night at a rave is pretty much the definition of a Ravercise.

• Unlimited Starbucks Package vs. Unlimited Open Bar Package – Tequila is more fun than coffee, c'mon lol.

• Bingo vs. Karaoke – Karaoke is so funny! Although I don't have the best voice in the world, that's the point, so karaoke 100%!

• Laser Tag vs. Go Kart Racing – Go-kart racing, way more fun for sure.

Ferry Corsten

• Sunrise at Sea vs. Sunset at Sea – That’s a tough one. I think sunset as it is always a moment of calm after the heat of the day, and before the fire starts at night.

• Digital Detox (No Wi-Fi) vs. Unlimited Wi-Fi On Board – Unlimited Wi-Fi, I’m personally pretty good at limiting my own internet usage anyway. And if I don’t have it at all, that would be very inconvenient!

• Ravercise vs. Ecstatic Dance Yoga Edition – Give me yoga anytime. It quiets both my mind and body.

• Unlimited Starbucks Package vs. Unlimited Open Bar Package – Open Bar. I love a good glass of red wine. An espresso makes me very happy too, I’m just not a big fan of Starbucks.

• Bingo vs. Karaoke – Bingo, because trust me, no one wants to hear me sing!

• Laser Tag vs. Go Kart Racing – Go-kart racing, as I find it has a bit more of a thrill to it.

Ray Volpe

• Sunrise at Sea vs. Sunset at Sea – Sunrise! Realistically there's no way I'll be awake for this LOL. But, I think it'd be such an amazing sightseeing the first bit of light of the day happen in real time out there where it's nothing but water and skies.

• Digital Detox (No Wi-Fi) vs. Unlimited Wi-Fi On Board – I can't do the whole disconnect thing. I still need to be swiping TikTok at the end of every night.

• Ravercise vs. Ecstatic Dance Yoga Edition – Ravercise. I don't even know what that is, but it sounds sick. Is it like the bicycle stuff where you listen to EDM?

• Unlimited Starbucks Package vs. Unlimited Open Bar Package – Where's the unlimited Ghost Energy package?

• Bingo vs. Karaoke – Am I an old man for picking Bingo?

• Laser Tag vs. Go Kart Racing – Laser tag, obviously.

Riot Ten

• Sunrise at Sea vs. Sunset at Sea – Sunset for sure. There's no way I'm going to be awake to see the sunrise.

• Digital Detox (No Wi-Fi) vs. Unlimited Wi-Fi On Board – Unlimited Wi-Fi on board. We got business to do!

• Ravercise vs. Ecstatic Dance Yoga Edition – Ravercise. I am NOT flexible.

• Unlimited Starbucks Package vs. Unlimited Open Bar Package – This one is easy. I don't drink coffee, so definitely the unlimited open bar package.

• Bingo vs. Karaoke – Bingo. I have a terrible voice.

• Laser Tag vs. Go Kart Racing – This is a tough one… but I have to go with go-kart racing. Because Mario Kart of course.

Valentino Khan

• Sunrise at Sea vs. Sunset at Sea – Is there really even a difference? I lose all concept of time when I’m on a cruise ship.

• Digital Detox (No Wi-Fi) vs. Unlimited Wi-Fi On Board – Give me Wi-Fi so I can hurt people’s feelings and spread FOMO that they are not on the ship with us.

• Ravercise vs. Ecstatic Dance Yoga Edition – That yoga stuff sounds way too advanced for me, so I’m just going to jump around and play loud music.

• Unlimited Starbucks Package vs. Unlimited Open Bar Package – Open bar easy. I don’t drink coffee and I think people are chemically addicted to it.

• Bingo vs. Karaoke – Karaoke but they have to play “Hold The Line” by Toto. Otherwise, I’m being an old man & doing bingo.

• Laser Tag vs. Go Kart Racing – Laser tag for sure. I want to feel like I’m at my childhood mall that was badly in need of renovations.
