[LISTEN] BARELY ALIVE Takes a Stand for Human Creativity With New EP '100% NO AI'

BARELY ALIVE, 100% NO AI, Brostep
| July 17, 2026

Artificial intelligence has become one of the most debated topics across the music industry, raising questions about authorship, creativity, and the future of artistic expression.

With their latest project, BARELY ALIVE are making their position unmistakably clear. The veteran bass music duo returns with '100% NO AI,' a seven-track EP that embraces human collaboration while reaffirming the creative spirit that has defined the project since its inception.

Rather than framing artificial intelligence as a gimmick, the EP serves as a declaration of intent. Every song, vocal performance, production element, and piece of accompanying artwork was created by people, bringing together an extensive roster of collaborators including Ragga Twins, PAV4N, Dani King, Luci, Casey Cook, LOST FRIEND, Edison Cole, TYNAN, and Madyx.

“We returned to our roots, pushing the sonic boundaries of brostep to the next level while putting focus on the human element,” BARELY ALIVE explain.

Musically, '100% NO AI' balances nostalgia with progression. “OVERDRIVE” opens the project with melodic songwriting and intricate sound design before “POINT BLANK,” featuring Edison Cole and Dani King, explores themes of resilience through soaring vocals and heavy dubstep production.

“WE SET IT” pairs the duo with legendary UK vocalists Ragga Twins, while “LAY ME DOWN” showcases Luci's commanding vocal performance across one of the EP's most anthemic moments.

Elsewhere, “HUNGER GAMES” finds PAV4N delivering rapid-fire lyricism over one of the project's heaviest instrumentals, while “LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND” brings Casey Cook and LOST FRIEND into a more melodic framework before erupting into explosive brostep.

Closing track “NO BAD PARTS,” alongside TYNAN and Madyx, rounds out the release with cinematic storytelling and festival-ready energy.

This EP arrives during another significant chapter for the duo, following their immersive “OVERDRIVE” headline tour and the release of a live brostep mix that previewed much of the material now appearing across the project.

More than a response to the growing presence of AI, “100% NO AI” functions as a celebration of collaboration, musicianship, and the creative process itself.

At a time when technology continues reshaping music production, BARELY ALIVE argue that the future of electronic music remains strongest when driven by human imagination.
