Top 5 Labor Day Weekend Music Festivals For 2018

| August 24, 2018

Call up your friends and start planning because some of the most anticipated music festivals of the year are just around the corner.

NYC is about to wild out for Electric Zoo. Chicago is ready to celebrate “summer’s last stand” and the West Coast is gathering their camping gear for Burning Man or Bumbershoot.

If you don’t have plans, it’s time to make them. With headliners like Nicki Minaj, Diplo, and Portugal The Man, it can be hard to decide which event to choose.

Here are the top 5 Labor Day music festivals and events for 2018:

5. Natural Land - Alexander, AR

Grab the camping gear and get ready for an awesome weekend filled with great music. This festival won’t be big and overwhelming, but still offers hit artists worth traveling for. Notable headliners we are most excited for include 12th Planet, Break Science, Beats Antique, Run DMT, Bro Safari, GHTMRE, Tauk and Eoto. Enjoy the hippie vibes of Midwest festivals.

4. Bumbershoot - Seattle, WA

Bumbershoot is Seattle’s Labor Day party that mixes hit artists like The Chainsmokers and J.Cole with comedy acts like Eugene Mirman. This lineup has something for everyone. Hipsters will flock to Portugal. The Man and Phoenix while hip-hop lovers can enjoy Lil Wayne and Young Thug. Seattle is known for arts, foods and culture, and Bumbershoot mixes in these things to their festival to give people the full Pacific NW experience.

3. Made In America - Philadelphia, PA

Made In America is Philly’s anticipated event of every year that features radio favorites, throwbacks, and new school. The year’s headliners are the Queen bee, Nicki Minaj and everyone’s favorite new rapper, Post Malone. On the EDM spectrum, we’ve got Diplo and Zedd. Whip put the America Fashion and join together for the love of music. Other EDM acts we are excited for include Louis The Child, Tchami, Cashmere Cat, Jai Wolf and Anna Lunoe.

2. North Coast Music Festival - Chicago, IL

This Chi-town throwdown is one of the best in the Midwest known for its diverse lineups and good vibes. This year features Miguel, Axwel /\ Ingrosso, DJ Snake, RL Grime, Jamiroquai Yellow Claw, Gramatik and Snails. Dirtybird’s Claude Von Stroke will be performing as Barclay Crenshaw for a special hip-hop house set. Expect to have your musical horizons expanded, and enjoy an after party at one of the many venues around the windy city!

1. Electric Zoo - New York City

Who let the animals out? NYC’s most anticipated rave event of the year is here and it’s the 10 year anniversary so you know it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! This EDM zoo themed event inspires the craziest animal festival outfits you can imagine. Unleash your inner rave beast and get wild with your friends at Randall Island’s Park. This year’s headliners are pretty much all the favorites in every genre - Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Kaskade, Marshmello, Alesso and Porter Robinson’s latest project called Virtual Self.

Honorable Mention:

Burning Man

Burning Man isn’t the traditional type of music festival where there is a posted lineup and schedule, but it does take place over Labor Day Weekend. This 10 day event is life changing and so massive that it’s impossible to see it all. Themed camps throw parties various nights of the week and you will run into executives from major companies from across the globe but not even realize it. This is not an event for the light hearted. Lots of preparation goes into planning for the extreme conditions of the Playa. If you are attending, check out the Burning Man Collection HERE for inspiration for your perfect Playa outfits.

Labor Day Weekend also means the days are getting shorter and cooler. It’s time to put away the shorts and pull out the hoodies.
