[EVENT PREVIEW] HUGEL Plans Latin House Takeover at NYC's Avant Gardner With Special Guest J. Worra
French DJ and leading proponent of the Latin House movement, HUGEL is returning to Brooklyn on December 29th for a headlining set in the Great Hall of Avant Gardner, the most prominent EDM venue in the United States.
With more than 7.6 million monthly streamers on Spotify, HUGEL's meteoric rise over the past few years has earned him coveted slots at major EDM festivals worldwide such as Tomorrowland, Electric Forest, and Electric Daisy Carnival.
His breakout track “Morenita” featuring the bachata group Cumbiafrica has been a mainstay in tech house sets played by John Summit, Fisher, and Diplo, along with his remix of Bella ciao and the track “Marienala (Que Pasa).”
HUGEL will be joined in the Great Hall by the fast-rising J. Worra who puts a fresh spin on the iconic sounds of Chicago’s underground House scene. J. Worra’s latest track “Dancing At The Disco” hypnotizes with steady drums, chunky bass, and coiling, seductive vocals from Cherry Tooth that culminate in an explosive crescendo.
iEDM interviewed Hugel leading up to his 2022 appearance at Imagine Festival and he shared that his club sets are much longer than his festival sets. When locked in, he enjoys putting on four to five-hour journeys for the audience.
Hardcore fans will be happy to know that he primarily plays original music, including a lot of unreleased songs and remixes.
The Great Hall’s state-of-the-art sound system, guided by the venue’s elite team of sound engineers, will deliver an enveloping night of music.
HUGEL's Avant Gardner show is happening amid one of the busiest weeks for New York nightlife, with some of the biggest DJs converging in Brooklyn and Manhattan to celebrate the end of 2023.
At Avant Gardner alone, Tchami is going back to back with Malaa on December 28th and CityFox takes over the venue for New Year's Eve.
House fans looking to sweat away their sins and transcend into a new, purified version of themselves for the New Year should get tickets for HUGEL's show before they sell out. An ecstatic night of Chicago and Latin House awaits.
