[FESTIVAL REVIEW] Beats Kept Groovin' Through Hurricane Hillary For Splash House Weekend 3!
The buzz of summer has been at an all-time high for many music lovers with so many festivals this year. Excitement for the ultimate party hot spot made its final mark in Palm Springs, California this past weekend from August 18-20th. This three-weekend festival series known as Splash House made the last splash worth the hype for all attendees, whether you were a returning Splash Lover or making a debut appearance to the fun.
There was a forecast of an epic dance party and hurricane Hillary causing a little rain on our parade, but don't worry, the season couldn’t end on that note. This pool party extravaganza was taken over by the world of house music with headliners like Matroda, Kyle Walker, SIDEPIECE, Bleu Clair, and more! We joined in the groovy beats booming during the day from the stages at the three resident hotels: the Renaissance, Saguaro, and Margaritaville.
By night, the after-parties at the Palm Springs Air Museum were keeping us up until sunrise. The iEDM team couldn’t resist joining in on all the amazing vibes for weekend 2 and celebrating the 10th anniversary of Splash House with the Splash fam!
The party began for some Splash mates on Friday night as attendees made their way onto shuttles to the after hours. The Palm Spring Air Museum was hosting the start of the night, with crowds arriving at the hangar for a night of dancing for a pre-hype to the bender filled weekend.
To kick off the night was producer Franklyn Watts delivering a feverish Spanish house madhouse set. Mashing his set for all of us heartbreakers with his song “Corazón Partió” and mixed new IDs. The dance floor was thumping along with the groovy beats from funk master Lubelski!
The glow of purple shined above the stage over the huge fighter plane when the Black Book legend rose from the stage. Fist pumps were waving in the air, ready for Chris Lake to deliver his techno heat. We all know that as soon as you hear Lake’s club hits, you truly free your mind and free your body-buddum-buddum.

As the show began on Saturday at noon, the party was in full effect, no matter the forecast of a storm heading towards Palm Springs. There was no doubt that the house music vibes were in full party-hopping mode with the help of complimentary shuttles taking Splash lovers from stage to stage. At the Renaissance stage, colorful swimsuits were scattered around the pool.
The music was fueling the good vibes, with tech-house master TOBEHONEST on the decks. The fun was just beginning as more groups joined and entered into the pool party madness!
At the Margaritaville, the disco house set was unstoppable to not shake too as we left the shuttles. The crowd was in a trance with the heat Australian producer Demuja brought with his disco sound house blend was phenomenal!
The scene was just like a movie with the bright-colored Splash balloons flying in the air. The best part was seeing how invested guests were with themed outfits featuring fruits, animal print, and pop culture references. All the effort that the Splash House team put in truly showed with the complementary goodies they were handing out, on top of delivering an epic pool party.
The most anticipated acts and clashing for the closing slots were stationed at Renaissance, such as duo SIDEPIECE, along with Margaritaville hosting Matroda. As we made our way onto the busy shuttles, we had to end our night with beats from Matroda. Up on the decks, the tech-house technician was playing his club hits like “Can't Fight The Feeling,” getting everyone in the groove.
Finally, many guests hopped on the free shuttle to finish their night at the afters with Bones B2B Lee Wells, KREAM, and Channel Tres. All the attendees were all set for one last sunny day of fun on Sunday, but they had to change their plans due to bad weather forecasts. The Splash House team reassured everyone that the party would go on, come rain or shine!
They transformed ballrooms into lively DJ parties to keep the fun going indoors. The stages across the hotels were fueled with house beats and rain, as the summer bash continued with wAFF and Chapter & Verse playing at Margaritaville.
There were groovy DJ sets being played across stages with Flight Facilities and club set with DRAMA. The last splash headlined French icon Tchami at the Margaritaville to say one last goodbye to the Splash House Family!
Splash House Weekend 3's 10th-anniversary edition will always be remembered as an amazing experience! Once you've had your first taste of the splash, you can't help but feel the love and sense of community at this ultimate pool party.
This summer festival is meant to be lived by all disco kings, house bunnies, and music festival enthusiasts! Despite the storm during the last Splash, the spirit at Splash House wasn't weakened, we kept the celebration going strong!
