Here's Why You Should Start Festival Season Off In The Paradise Of Okeechobee Festival

| January 17, 2018

In only its third year, Okeechobee Music Festival has established itself as one of the premier music festivals in the South. The festival grounds are decorated with palm trees lit up with colorful LEDs, and island vibe artwork, creating a tropical oasis theme.

Created by the masterminds behind Firefly and Bonnaroo, this event has been a huge success with a lot of careful planning from festival pros since day one.

First year events are expected to have hiccups, but Okeechobee came to conquer the music festival world with a diverse line up, awe-inspiring production and collaborative efforts from local Florida artists.

This March 1-4, 2018, Okeechobee is back again with a stellar line up.

Okeechobee features top artists from all across the music spectrum

Okeechobee is bringing back their OG headliner since day one, Bassnectar, with not one, but TWO sets. One will be a special full moon set to start the festival off for a raging weekend. (So grab your space gear HERE!)

My favorite voice on the radio currently, Halsey, will be there to sing us her part in her hit collaboration with the Chainsmokers, "Closer."

Grammy winning indie rock band Arcade Fire stars the rock genre, and Travis Scott known for his hit song "Antidote" headlines as the hip-hop act.

Okeechobee is known for its special POWOW sets where one artist brings out guests for an epic once in a lifetime performance. This year Snoop Dogg and friends will take the stage for a "Nothing But a G Thing" performance.

Ganja White Night will be throwing down a special b2b set with Boogie T and Dirty Monkey.

Other notable acts this year include indie pop stars Foster The People, our favorite crunchy DJs, Zeds Dead; our best album of 2017 winner, Illenium; reggae stars Slightly Stoopid, and electrojam band STS9.

The Small Stages Are The Big Attraction

The Aquachoee Stage is an oasis to dance and chill. Its not an actual beach, but they turn a small lake into a beach side party with a chill stage that turns into a dance party of bass music at night.

Bring your floaties if you're brave enough to get in a potential gator pond in Florida, or just stick your toes in the sand and relax on the side.

At the Aquachobee area, there are art installations all around to explore, climb and chill on. There's a Ferris wheel, which is always a festival must. And at night, a forest area close by turns into an alien themed techno party dubbed as the Jungle 51 Stage. Bring your hammock to chill into the wee morning hours.

This Year They Promise Better Sound

The only complaint anyone ever had about this festival was the sound. They announced in a Facebook Post that they are improving their sound for 2018, promising booming bass.

The upgrade will include:

– Reorienting the stages within the Grove

– Upgrading the PA systems on both the NOW and HERE stages

– Upgraded PAs in Aquachobee

– Flying the PAs on towers at Aquachobee
