Here's Your EDC Vegas 2017 Planning Checklist

| May 19, 2017

Festival Season is in full swing and that means ravers have their calendars filled with events from coast to coast. Not all EDM events are the same: some span multiple weekends, like Electric Forest in Rothbury. Others are multiple day mega-festivals (with a weeklong pre-party) like the upcoming EDC in Las Vegas. Some last only the weekend, like HSMF in California. And still, others are single day events, like Kaskade’s Spring Fling series.

No matter which EDM event you plan on attending, one thing is definitive: you have to plan. For the single day events, it’s relatively easy to plan, but for the multiple day, weekend-long extravaganzas, there’s a lot more to think about. Are you traveling for an event? Oops, even more to plan.

Before all the tiny details threaten to overwhelm you and reduce ravers to twitching messes, we’ve made a checklist for multiple-day events (assuming you’ll be traveling). This list is specific to EDC, but the general checklist applies for most multiple-day festivals. Dot your I’s and cross your T’s and the next time you travel for a festival, it’ll be a breeze.

1. Buy Tickets (Early or Not)

EDC usually starts selling tickets in November (before the lineup is even released). But with an event like EDC it’s almost guaranteed that there will be artists every day that you like or want to see. Buying tickets early has a perk: they're cheaper. But there's a bit of a risk when you buy your tickets months in advance. Another option is to wait until the lineup is released to buy your (more expensive) tickets. Whichever you choose, it's unlikely that EDC will sell out, so choose whichever works best for you!

2. Choose Your Flight

In the event that you do not live in Las Vegas, you will most likely need to travel to EDC. Whether you fly or drive or take a train, you want to make sure you book that ticket in advance. Imagine how you would feel if you bought a ticket to EDC but when you finally decided to purchase your plane ticket there aren’t any available for your budget.

3. Book A Hotel

Like your flight, it’s best to book this in advance, especially for EDC. Cheaper hotels will fill up FAST and unless you can afford the swanky hotels that cost your month’s rent for a night, I would advise picking your hotel ahead of time and securing your rooms. Especially with EDC Week preceding the festival itself, hotel rooms will go fast.

4. Transportation to the Event

It’s one thing to be in the right state, but it’s another to get to the festival grounds. EDC is held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway which isn’t on the strip (where most hotels are). EDC provides shuttle service to and from (Uber and Lyft are alternative options as well) and it’s best to make sure you can move between your hotel and the venue. Shuttle tickets definitely sell out, so if you plan on taking the official EDC shuttles, secure that ticket!

5. Make A Budget

You definitely want to figure out your budget for EDC. Hotels, flights, food, transportation, merchandise and various tickets all add up in cost. Make sure you have a ballpark budget that you can keep to!

6. Start Packing

Make sure you have all your festival essentials as well as your travel essentials. From toiletries to your fluffies, make sure you have everything you need for a successful EDC and pack carefully!

EDC is a huge event and whether this will be your first year or your tenth, dress your best with our EDC 2017 Collection. Featuring everything from crop tops to leg wraps, you can craft your perfect outfit for your weekend under the electric sky!
