Rising Underground Artist Spotlight: Wenzday
Everyday is Wenzday with Bay area native DJ/Producer Taylor Chung, who is breaking through the underground dance music scene with her hybrid house and dubstep tracks. At the age of 16, Taylor took a leap of faith and moved to LA to pursue DJing full time.
From being the youngest person to DJ the playboy mansion to now spinning the main stage to support acts like Sikdope, there is no expecting what she will do next. Her grind doesn’t stop there; Taylor also earned a slot playing at Burning Man in Black Rock City, Nevada. She also destroyed the sound camps at Lost Lands in Ohio playing along side with names like Ducky, Kompany, Phiso, and more.
Taylor isn’t just creative, but she’s also fashionable. She is the co-founder of riddim clothing brand, 40oz Cult. These rad riddim threads sell out every month they drop. 40z Cult is more than a clothing company, but also a label managed by Taylor herself and her brother, Tanner Chung, also known as Dack Janiels.
Both siblings are break through artists and graduates from electronic music production school Icon Collective. Wenzday has released singles on Popgang, Doom Records, and Dim Mak, just to name a few; and has earned support from blogs like Bassrush, Your EDM, and This Song Slaps.
Taylor has a reputation of being bold during her live sets. She threw a surprise set with Hami at EDC Las Vegas and played the Art Cart at Beyond Wonderland Southern California. Catch Wenzday’s recent release “Soul Come Alive” on 40oz Cult and her upcoming releases “Jungle Demon” on Gold Digger Records and “China 2 LA ft. Gullie Lamont” on Pinnacle Collective. Keep an eye out early 2019 for her new EP! With her insane passion and work ethic there is no stopping Taylor from living everyday, Wenzday.
