Space Jesus Winter Tour Review: Out Of This World Bass
Space Jesus: the name may not ring a bell just yet, but don’t be surprised when you start to notice it popping up on all the underground and bass music festival line-ups.
Space Jesus, also known by his Earth name, Jasha Tull, has made his way onto the maps with his dubstep-fused sounds and futuristic space vibe during his epic live sets and performances at mega festivals such as TomorrowWorld, MysteryLand, and Shambhala.
The Boulder resident kicked off 2017 at full speed with his Winter 2017 Tour with four stops in Colorado. I got the chance to check out his sold out show at The Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado to see what all the hype is about.
Having listened to his Exclusive Grassroots Dope Hat Mix on SoundCloud on repeat for the past month, I knew I was in for a wild night.
Upon arrival, openers DMVU and Shlump set the dubby-bass vibe as the SpaceFam began filling the room.
Then the lights turned down, and out-of-this-world bass lines came on. He warmed up the crowd with with the classic heavy hitters like "Bob Molly" and "Space Boss." As I looked around, a galaxy of extraterrestrial headbangers with smiles from ear to ear *or antennae to antennae* came together as one to dance.
He dropped two new unreleased tracks featuring fellow producers Bleep Bloop and Liquid Stranger. As he announced the new hits, the entire audience screamed.
This was just the start to the busy year Space Jesus has ahead of him. His Winter 2017 Tour has over 10 more major cities on the agenda from Chicago and Atlanta, including a special back to back set with Minnesota at BUKU Music & Arts Project in March. The last date on his tour is April 22nd in Cleveland, Ohio (with more dates tba).
Space Jesus was also announced as a co-headliner position at The Untz Festival in Mariposa, California June 2nd - 5th. We are certain you can expect to see him at other festivals across the country as line-ups continue to drop.
