[Event Review] Splash House Weekend 1 Takes Attendees To Groove City
With summer right around the corner, the iEDM team packed their swimsuits and headed towards sunny Palm Springs for the annual house paradise extravaganza. This year Splash House was celebrating its 10th anniversary of house music and day pool parties at three local resorts-the Renaissance, Saguaro, and Margaritaville in Palm Springs.
Now do not be mistaken, this isn’t just your average pool resort experience. Oh no, oh no! This is a complete hotel takeover with decorated balconies inspired by pop culture. From Jersey Shore to Disco Hello Kitty, hotel room parties, poolside stages, and everything an epic pool party has, Splash House embodies it all.
We came to kick off the party at Weekend 1, featuring the most electrifying pool side beats for this FOMO-inducing pool-ready spectacle. Splash House is known for its unique lineups, catered for house bunnies and disco kings to groove the night away at this party-hopping experience.
We arrived Friday evening as the summer breeze blew in, while other attendees were walking into the complimentary shuttle lines or heading into the Renaissance hotel. The party started on Friday night at the Palm Spring Air Museum, where attendees could easily grab a shuttle to from their hotels.
The stage at Air Museum was in front of a shadowing plane as Masha Mar and Heidi Lawden launched this summer bash with their energy driven B2B. The crowd was digging the disco fever in the air, along with Masha and Heidi's ability to move their audience rhythmically to the house trance. The museum grounds had a display of war airplanes lit up with red and blue light, as well as the Beatbox team on-site with photo ops and drinks to purchase.
Around 12:30 AM, Purple Disco Machine took center-stage at the tarmac and began a nonstop groove-heavy set blended with his original sound of disco house and the right amount of funk. It was no surprise that he controlled the dance floor with remixes of The Weeknd and his iconic anthem “Hypnotized”. Dancing under the sky to this disco machine was unforgettable and truly set the right tone for the weekend.
Running on Red Bull(s) and little to sleep, Saturday started up at noon with day pool parties at all three resorts. At the Saguaro, the 70s inspired hotel was spanned with colorful decks that were ornamented with signs, decorations, and balloons of humorous puns towards Splash House such as “Cloonee Tunes”, “Hulk Splash,” and “Splash Island.”
DJ Susan set the groovy vibes as the sun beat down on loungers and watermelon floaties in the pool. The attendees were dancing along the funky beats and cooling-off meeting the rest of the Splash House fam, sharing that friendly vibe from the poolside to the room decks.
There were a few fresh faces to the block, and making his debut performance was Ranger Trucco at Saguaro. With his infectious bass and captivating groove, his electronic beats sounded exotic, forcing the crowd to beg for more. The stage never felt packed and there was space to dance within the front of the stage.
The most hype performance and closing act was Cloonee. He blew the stage away with his tech beats that caused poolside madness. He hypnotized the audience with his set, playing Cloonee favorites like “Mi Amor”, and even dropping IDs that we are excited to hear in the future. Party-goers continued to the after-hours for one more night with smashing sounds from Jean Pierre. With electronic hits being closed out by Gordo.
Wrapping up the weekend, Splash House Day 3 presented the optimal time to explore uncharted territory, being the stages at Margaritaville and Renaissance resort. it's murph had the Margaritaville stage jumping to his funky rhythm that radiates positivity. The crowd was jamming to the remixes of his loved songs as a sparkling disco ball shined above the decks.
The resort was modified into a perfect island getaway paradise, with plants and more disco balls hanging around the pool. Up next was a rhythmic deep house set by the lovely HoneyLuv, killing it with her soulful beats. Then many people headed on the complementary shuttle on their way to finish the weekend at the Renaissance hotel.

Summer vibes were in full commencement with Grammy-winner Nic Fanciulli's seamless blend of tropical and rhythmic beats. The crowd was euphoric and the energy was high throughout the sets. For all the barbee lovers out there, the final act of the night was Green Velvet, arguably the most anticipated of Sunday.
There was an irresistible groove from Green Velvet that radiated an unrivaled liveliness. The stage glowed with colors and bubbles as he played his hit “BARBEE” with Joeski (as he got thrown an actual Barbie doll on stage)! The set was incredible; it was a fairy tale ending to the night. Additionally, there was an after hours announced the day of Sunday, which headlined Ranger Trucco and other DJs.

Splash House Weekend 1 proved to be an awe-inspiring event, making it the ultimate pool party for all house music enthusiasts. The transportation and hotel system work seamlessly together, making it way effortless to party-hop compared to other festivals. Alyson Soong, four-year Splash House veteran, had this to say about her love for Splash House:
“I have been coming to Splash House for the last 4 years and there never had this experience anywhere else. I have been to festivals like Coachella and it just seems to get more packed every year with not that many music lovers. At Splash House, I feel like I get a little get away from my reality every year to come to my happy place here. It is so convenient to just have a DJ literally playing sets all day and I can enjoy it from the pool to my hotel room. I always meet great people and it is perfect vibes to be around.”
Even though Splash House was spectacular, lots of its attendees are already looking forward to Weekend 2 and 3 in August. Be on the lookout for updates from iEDM and secure your spot at this one-of-a-kind experience HERE!
